The ‘Tis Time for “Torture,” Princess anime series is scheduled to debut on Japanese television on January 8, 2023. The latest trailer revealed the opening theme song “Massakasa Magic!” by Shallm and the ending theme song “Ashita was Ashita no Kaze ga Fuku” by LEEVELLES. The anime is being directed by Yoko Kanemori at PINE JAM studios, and the series' scripts are being handled by Kazuyuki Fudeyasu. Toshiya Kono and Satoshi Furuhashi are responsible for character design, while Masaru Yokoyama is composing the music for the anime.

The manga first debuted on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ digital manga platform in Japan in April 2019. MANGA Plus, also under Shueisha, started publishing the manga in English on its platform in October of the same year.

The 12th compiled book volume of the manga was released in Japan on July 4, 2023. The series has amassed over 200 million views and is known for its intense storyline, featuring a princess enduring brutal tortures at the hands of the Hellhorde. Haruhara’s earlier work, Senyu., was the inspiration for two television anime adaptations in 2013, which were streamed by Crunchyroll as they aired in Japan. Additionally, Haruhara’s Gakumon! ~Okami Shojo wa Kujikenai~ manga served as the basis for a Flash anime series in 2014.
