The first Splatoween Splatfest in Splatoon 3 has concluded, and Team Ghosts emerged victorious. Players of Splatoon 3 battled it out to determine which creature would make the best friend: a zombie, skeleton, or ghost.

Fans of Splatoon 3 had eagerly awaited the arrival of a Halloween Splatfest in 2023, as it was notably absent during the game's initial release. Fortunately, the event made a triumphant return, featuring Halloween-themed remixes of the game's soundtrack, player cosmetics, and a hauntingly unique appearance for Deep Cut, the beloved triple idol group, as well as the iconic Squid Sisters and the splat-filled city of Splatsville.

Despite Shiver's previous victories in multiple Splatfests, this time players showed more interest in Frye and Big Man's teams. During the first day of the competition, it was revealed that Big Man's Team Ghost had collected the highest number of conch shells during the sneak peek phase. However, by the end of the first day, Frye's Team Skeleton had taken the lead, causing Team Zombie and Team Ghost to go on the defensive.

Despite Shiver being chosen as the Best Leader in the last Splatfest for Splatoon 3, her winning streak came to a halt in this competition. Big Man has only won three times so far, while Shiver has secured seven wins since the game's pre-launch testfire event.

While many players enjoyed Splatoween, some are already anticipating the possibility of a Frosty Fest. In Splatoon 2, the winter holiday season was celebrated with a special Splatfest known as the Frosty Fest. Similar to Halloween, it featured unique elements such as modified music and battle effects. There is no guarantee that Splatoon 3 will have a similar event, especially since it already has exclusive limited-time events like Big Run and Eggstra Work that were absent in Splatoon 2. However, the game developers were likely aware of how much fans missed the special holiday-themed Splatfests in 2022, so there is a chance that they may make a comeback as well.
