Following their successful collaboration on Thor: Ragnarok in 2017, there were high expectations for Thor: Love and Thunder, as fans anticipated the reunion of Hemsworth and Waititi. However, the film failed to meet the hype, which led Marvel Studios to re-evaluate their approach to the character and his future. Despite this setback, the set-up in Thor: Love and Thunder can still be utilized by the MCU, especially when reintroducing certain characters from the movie.
To begin with, Hercules' plan for revenge could unfold in Thor 5, setting the stage for his expanded role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Additionally, if Thor can find a means to communicate with Valhalla, both Jane and Heimdall, who were last seen there in Thor: Love and Thunder, may make a comeback. Concerning the reunion of Loki and Thor, there are two potential paths. One option is to reintroduce the Loki from the Sacred Timeline, assuming he is also in Valhalla. Alternatively, the Loki from 2012, currently exploring the multiverse alongside Mobius, could be brought together with his Asgardian brother.
Regardless of the scenario, the presence of any of these characters would undoubtedly enhance the appeal of Thor 5.
