As Rick and Morty Season 7 continues, fans are curious about the new voices behind the characters. Find out who will be replacing Justin Roiland in this role.

Since the announcement of Roiland's departure from the series he co-created, fans have been eagerly anticipating who will take on the challenging task of voicing Rick, Morty, and other beloved characters.

The news broke this year when Roiland was arrested for felony domestic assault, dating back to 2020. While the charges were eventually dropped, Adult Swim made the decision to sever ties with him. They announced that co-creator Dan Harmon would now assume the leading role.

Despite keeping the replacement voice actors under wraps, the network has finally revealed the answer during the Season 7 premiere.

Who’s voicing Rick and Morty?

As is revealed in the credits for Season 7 Episode 1, Ian Cardoni is the new voice of Rick Sanchez and Harry Belden is Morty Smith.

The words "Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon" have been omitted from the opening credits, leaving only the Rick and Morty logo. Adult Swim kept the identities of the voice actors who replaced the original cast a secret until now, even though we got a sneak peek of their voices in the Season 7 trailer.

The new voice actors have divided fans with their performance. While some viewers were pleased that Cardoni and Belden captured the essence of Roiland's portrayal of the main characters, others had reservations.

"One user on X/Twitter praised the replacements, saying, 'Great job on the voice actors, if they were the ones speaking in the trailer. They sounded extremely similar to the original.'

Another user pointed out the similarities between the pilot voice and the new voice, stating, 'Honestly, I can't hear a significant difference. It's similar to people complaining about the slight variations in the voices of Rick & Morty. Barely noticeable, if noticeable at all?!?? These voice actors are professionals, let's give them credit.'"

A fan on the opposing side stated, "I understand why @JustinRoiland is no longer involved in Rick & Morty (despite being innocent of any wrongdoing), but the replacement voices lack the humor that Justin brought to his performances and lines."

Adding to the sentiment, another person commented, "The new voices for Rick, Morty, and the side characters that were previously voiced by Justin Roiland are terrible. Especially Mr. Poopy Butthole. Why would they ruin the show like this? They should either end it or find a way to bring Justin back."

Some people have mixed opinions on the new voices for the characters in Rick and Morty. While they feel that the replacements for Rick and Morty are excellent, they are not as impressed with the new voices for the other characters voiced by Roiland. One person commented, "The new voices for Rick & Morty are doing an amazing job, it's almost like Roiland himself. However, the new voices for the other characters, particularly Mr. Poopy Butthole, don't sound as good."
