The Harry Potter series was filled with shocking moments, but one of the most surprising revelations came from Harry Potter And The Cursed Child, a renowned play-turned-novel. The revelation that Lord Voldemort, the darkest wizard in history, had fathered a child before his demise at the hands of Harry Potter, left readers astounded.
Having a character who is the offspring of pure evil presents numerous intriguing possibilities. However, some fans found the portrayal of this girl to be overly simplistic. As a result, they chose to skip Harry Potter And The Cursed Child, which means there is a significant number of fans who are unaware of the existence of Voldemort's child and are eager to uncover the true identity of the mysterious young girl named Delphini Riddle.
How Did Voldemort Have A Child?
The revelation of Voldemort having a child is shocking for several reasons, one of which is his inability to experience love. Despite this, the idea of him having occasional romantic encounters cannot be completely ruled out. However, fans of Harry Potter never anticipated such a development.
Delphini Riddle's mother is none other than Bellatrix Lestrange, raising the possibility that the child was conceived using magical means, similar to her father's conception. While Bellatrix and Voldemort had a peculiar relationship, it is difficult to envision them being romantically involved without the influence of a love potion or something of the sort.
Who Is Delphini?
The Birth and Secrets of Delphini at Malfoy Manor, 1998Delphi Riddle, commonly known as Delphi, possessed an unparalleled talent in witchcraft, making her destined to become one of the most formidable sorceresses ever. As a direct descendant of Salazar Slytherin, she possessed the rare ability to converse in parseltongue, a skill that only a select few witches and wizards throughout the Harry Potter series possessed. Unfortunately, her childhood was marred by solitude as an orphan, preventing her from ever experiencing the opportunity to refine her magical powers within the secure confines of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Delphini eventually uncovered the truth about her parentage and embarked on a mission to resurrect her deceased parents. To achieve this, she cunningly manipulated Amos Diggory into believing she was his niece, a young and innocent girl longing to bring her cousin back to life. Unfortunately, this was only the beginning of her sinister ways.
Despite not attending Hogwarts, the silver-haired woman possessed impressive magical skills. She proved her capability by posing a significant threat to Harry Potter without any external assistance. Moreover, she effortlessly wielded unforgivable curses, showcasing her formidable magical talents. Her intelligence was evident in her successful schemes, which yielded results for a considerable period of time.
Delphini’s Friendship With Harry Potter’s Son
In order for Delphini to successfully revive her deceased parents, she had to befriend Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy, the sons of Harry Potter and Draco Malfoy respectively. This became necessary because Harry Potter had refused to assist her in using a time-turner to go back in time to the death of Cedric Diggory, a critical moment in her plan.
The three of them quickly formed a strong bond and even went as far as brewing a polyjuice potion in order to infiltrate the Ministry of Magic and acquire a time-turner. However, the boys ended up disappointing Delphini, which led her to take matters into her own hands. By deceiving the boys into handing over the time-turner, she revealed her true malevolent nature by killing a Hogwarts student. This forced the boys to comply with her time-traveling scheme.
With their once-prosperous friendship now tainted, Delphini's carefully crafted schemes were abruptly foiled by an unexpected stroke of fortune, courtesy of Cedric Diggory. Just as they ventured back to the exhilarating third challenge of the renowned Triwizard Tournament, Delphini, undeterred, decided to venture through time yet again, abruptly abandoning the bewildered boys on the eve preceding Voldemort's dark intentions to slay the Potters and pave the path towards his own inevitable downfall.
Delphini’s Battle With Harry Potter
In a race against time to find her father and prevent him from murdering the Potters, Delphini faced an unexpected challenge when Harry Potter and his loyal companions traveled back to the same era using a time-turner. Their mission was to rescue Albus and Scorpius, but it ultimately led to a dramatic showdown between Delphini Riddle and Harry Potter. To provoke Delphini into a confrontation, Harry cleverly disguised himself as Voldemort. However, his impersonation could only deceive her for a limited time before she saw through the ruse.
Despite Harry having a plan to overcome Delphini, she swiftly prevented him from executing it by securing the church and disarming him. Harry's only hope was to survive until help arrived, which came in the timely form of his son Albus. Just when it seemed like Delphini would triumph over Harry Potter, Albus armed his father and, with the church unlocked, Harry's family and friends united in the battle against her. Although Delphini possessed strength and skill to take down each witch and wizard individually, she proved no match for their collective force, resulting in her ultimate defeat.
In an unexpected twist, Albus expresses a strong desire to witness Delphini's demise as punishment for her actions. However, Harry promptly rejects this notion. Despite Delphini's desperate pleas to be relieved of her troubled mind, Harry chooses not to end her life, firmly believing that she should confront the repercussions of her own birth circumstances. As the battle concludes, Delphini is officially defeated by Harry Potter and, following a recommendation by Hermione, is likely imprisoned in Azkaban for her crimes.
