Selling Sunset is known for its drama, but the cast reveals that not all of it is captured on screen. The Netflix series, first aired in 2019, follows the lives of employees at the prestigious Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles. While Selling Sunset has showcased both the romantic entanglements and office conflicts of the cast, not all of the excitement makes it into the final version.
Christine Quinn, a member of the cast, criticized the editing multiple times before leaving the show offscreen in 2022. Just before season 5 started streaming in April of that year, she tweeted, "30 minutes til the launch of #SellingSunset enjoy the new season and all of its 5,000 fake storylines."
During that time, Christine faced accusations of bribing Emma Hernan's clients, and her departure from the show was presented as a potential dismissal from the firm. However, she argued that the events unfolded differently from how they were portrayed and maintained that she had not been fired because she had already planned to leave the company.
"I felt like I was the sole individual who truly comprehended the task," she informed The New York Times in July 2022, subsequent to departing from the Oppenheim Group and establishing her own company alongside her husband Christian Richard. "I was the lone voice that expressed, 'Hey, this is a spectacle, and I am determined to deliver an outstanding performance to the world.'"
Nicole Young additionally believed that her perspective was not accurately portrayed. After a heated argument with Emma captured on-screen during season 7, Nicole pondered why her apology was omitted from the airing.
On November 2023, she claimed on her Instagram Story that she sincerely apologized to her and clarified that her comment had nothing to do with her professional accomplishments. However, this heartfelt apology and clarification were not shown during the 10-year anniversary dinner. Keep scrolling to discover additional scenes from Selling Sunset that were recorded but supposedly removed from the show.
The Timeline of Christine’s Pregnancy
Christine Quinn welcomed her son Christian just before season 4 premiered on Netflix in November 2021. Viewers were amazed and puzzled when they saw her effortlessly performing complicated yoga moves shortly after giving birth.
“[It was] edited incorrectly. I had been pregnant during that scene,” she expressed on X (formerly Twitter). “It’s unbelievable. I suppose people assume that when I practiced yoga on the show, I wasn't pregnant? Well, I was indeed pregnant during that scene. It took me 4 months before I could resume working out again.”
Christine’s Shocking Exit
Christine's departure was portrayed on screen as being connected to a bribery scandal, an allegation she vehemently denies. Jason Oppenheim had planned a meeting with her, but she failed to show up. However, according to Christine, the situation didn't unfold exactly as depicted; she claims that she and Jason had a private conversation offscreen after filming concluded.
"He simply stated that he was acting based on the information he had," she revealed exclusively to We in 2022. "I expressed my disappointment, telling him that it would have been better if he had reached out to me beforehand and allowed me to address any concerns or answer any questions."
Christine dismissed the bribery story line as "fake" and revealed that she had been intending to leave the show for over a year. She emphasized, "Of course there's no place for me. I terminated my contract weeks ago before filming. I now have my own company, lol," as she mentioned in a TikTok video.

In season 7, there was a brief mention of Bre discussing her past encounter with the actor. Interestingly, this actor happened to be the celebrity crush of Amanza Smith, her co-star. The online response to these comments was overwhelming, prompting Bre to clarify that the incident was actually part of a larger conversation regarding her relationship with Nick Cannon, whom she shares a son named Legendary.
"We were engaged in a casual conversation, adjusting the cameras while engaging in girl talk. The intent was not for it to be captured on film," she disclosed to Entertainment Tonight in November 2023. "I am aware of my own responsibility in this situation. I am aware."
Bre further revealed, "During the discussion, I mentioned having a child with my admired celebrity, but it did not manifest into reality."
Chrishell Stause Hints at Edited Dialogue
Chrishell Stause addressed comments on Instagram Story in November 2023 regarding the sudden introduction of certain topics on the show. She explained that these abrupt transitions often occur because the network alters the dialogue to cover a wide range of subjects within an episode. Chrishell hinted at the possibility of providing additional context for her onscreen conversations depending on what is included in the season 7 reunion.
Bre’s Confusing Feud With Cassandra Dawn
From the moment Cassandra appeared on season 7 of Selling Sunset, she maintained that she was familiar with Bre.
However, Bre refuted any knowledge of Cassandra beyond social media and doubted her motives for portraying them as acquaintances. The situation escalated during the season 7 finale when Bre abruptly left following a conflict with Cassandra.
"They only showed a fraction of the incident and failed to reveal the main reason behind my outburst," she explained on Instagram. "Suffice it to say, it was too repulsive to be broadcasted."
Nicole Young’s Apology to Emma
The Selling Sunset agent did not regret labeling Emma as a social climber; however, she did assert that there was a lack of context.
Nicole shared on the "We Have the Receipts" podcast in November 2023 that at Heather's baby shower, she had a conversation with Davina, her former costar. Nicole revealed that Davina was expressing her feelings of being hurt and upset by Emma. According to Davina, she and Emma were close friends who spent a lot of time together, but when Chrishell entered the picture, Emma seemed to prioritize their friendship over Davina's, which genuinely hurt her.
Nicole recalled extending a “heartfelt apology” to Emma that “unfortunately” didn’t make the final cut.
