In Season 1, Episode 7 of Wednesday, titled "If You Don't Woe Me by Now," Wednesday, along with Uncle Fester (played by Fred Armisen) and Thing, successfully break into a safe located in the Nightshade Society library. Their objective is to continue investigating an ongoing murder mystery by utilizing an old diary. However, as the episode progresses, Wednesday returns to her dorm room only to discover Thing stabbed into the wall, with the diary missing. Despite Thing's appearance of lifelessness, Wednesday's unwavering determination, alongside Uncle Fester's assistance, prevents Thing from perishing.
Subsequently, Wednesday transports Thing to Uncle Fester in an attempt to revive him. This instance marks the only moment in the show where Wednesday displays sorrow, shedding tears due to the distressing thought of losing Thing. Despite Fester's assertion that saving Thing is impossible because of the stab wound through the palm of his hand, Wednesday insists on Fester making the effort.
