Blunt and Krasinski first started their relationship in 2008, having met through a mutual friend. During a guest appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2011, the former star of The Office confessed that it was love at first sight for him.
"I wasn't actively seeking a relationship and I had planned to take my time in L.A.," he explained. "But then I met her and I was overwhelmed with nervousness. I thought, 'Oh God, I might actually fall in love with her.' When I shook her hand, I immediately felt drawn to her. It's one of those situations where you just know when you meet someone."
The actress from The Devil Wears Prada has also expressed her admiration for the impact her now-husband has had on her life. "Meeting John truly changed my life," she shared with InStyle in 2013. Blunt and Krasinski began dating in 2008 after being introduced by a mutual friend. Krasinski later revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2011 that it was love at first sight for him.
"It was one of those moments when I wasn't actively seeking a relationship, and I planned to take my time in Los Angeles," he shared. "But then I met her, and I was extremely nervous. I just knew, deep down, that I was going to fall in love with her. When I shook her hand, I couldn't help but say, 'I like you.' It's funny how sometimes you just know when you meet someone."
The actress from The Devil Wears Prada has expressed her admiration for the profound influence her current spouse has had on her life. The pair first crossed paths at a restaurant in 2008, brought together by a mutual acquaintance. Reflecting on the serendipitous encounter during an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers in 2018, Blunt dubs it a "somewhat melancholic, unimpressive story." She clarifies, "I was seated at the restaurant with a mutual friend, when suddenly my friend Gray exclaimed, 'Oh my god, that's my friend John!'" And that was the catalyst. John happened to be accompanied by our mutual friend Justin Theroux, but he promptly left their side to join us. He stood there by my side, effortlessly evoking laughter from within me. In that moment, a spark ignited, and I instinctively sensed a connection that held promise.
