Nintendo has recently announced a partnership between Super Mario and Oreo cookies. For a limited time, Oreo cookies will feature 16 Super Mario characters, and fans have expressed excitement on social media. This collaboration follows Oreo's previous collaboration with the Pokemon series in 2021, which unfortunately saw some cookies being resold at exorbitant prices. It remains to be seen if the Super Mario and Oreo collaboration will experience similar demand.
Starting on Monday, July 10, Oreo's website and various retailers worldwide will be offering packages of Super Mario Oreo cookies. Preorders for these limited-edition cookies will be available for $4.99 per package, with each customer limited to one package per order. The Super Mario characters and items featured on the Oreo cookies include Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Toad, Yoshi, Goomba, Koopa Troopa, Boo, Spiny, Piranha Plant, Blooper, a Coin, Super Mushroom, Fire Flower, and Super Star. Unfortunately, Princess Peach is absent due to Bowser's kidnapping in the marketing campaign for this collaboration. Super Mario fans showed enthusiasm on social media in response to this news, with some jokingly speculating that the Oreo cookies could serve as a "power-up" for Mario's Elephant Mario form in the upcoming game Super Mario Bros. Wonder. The elephant form, alongside other power-ups, will play a significant role in the new Super Mario game set to launch in October. The duration of the Super Mario and Oreo crossover remains unspecified at this time.
Oreo has previously teamed up with franchises like Halo and Pokemon, but this marks the debut of the Super Mario series in their products. Its long-term future as a collaboration remains uncertain.
