The first three installments of Tomb Raider are set to be released on console and PC in early 2024, featuring enhanced visuals in a single package. Known as the Tomb Raider I, II, III Remaster, this game was initially unveiled for the Nintendo Switch during the September Nintendo Direct event. However, it will also be available for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC platforms.
Crystal Dynamics and Aspyr are collaborating on this project, with the official launch slated for February 14, 2024. The remastered versions boast improved graphics, allowing players to easily switch between the original polygonal visuals and the updated graphics at the touch of a button.
The first three Tomb Raider games were released in a span of three years: the original Tomb Raider in 1996, Tomb Raider II in the following year, and Tomb Raider III a year thereafter.
Following this, a reboot trilogy was introduced in 2013, which was continued by Rise of the Tomb Raider in 2015 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider in 2018. Currently, Crystal Dynamics is developing a new Tomb Raider game, which is slated to be published by Amazon.
In other news regarding Tomb Raider, a recent development has been the introduction of Lara Croft into Call of Duty, featuring a fresh new design. Whether or not this design will be adopted for the upcoming Tomb Raider game remains uncertain.
As of now, no release date has been announced for the new installment of Tomb Raider. Additionally, Netflix is currently in the process of creating an animated series based on Tomb Raider, with the talented Hayley Atwell lending her voice to the character of Lara.
