In this particular Final Fantasy 16 Side Quest, players are tasked with aiding L'ubor's apprentice in deciphering a perplexing request. Consequently, players must engage in some investigative work, locating the appropriate materials and mastering the necessary technique in the hopes of achieving L'ubor's desired outcome.
Carving Out a Niche Quest in Final Fantasy 16
This quest becomes available once players have gained L'ubor's trust in the main story. To start the quest, they need to speak to Sava, an apprentice of L'ubor, who can be found near L'ubor in Dalimil. Sava will quickly explain his problem and L'ubor's riddle, and Clive can offer to help.
L'ubor suggests the first step is to talk to people in the town who might have a use for a Carving Knife and figure out what they would want from one. By doing this, players can create a carving knife that fulfills the needs of the people in Dalimil. They should speak to the chef in the nearby market and the hunter near the far gate. This quest does not involve combat and mostly takes place in safe areas.
After conversing with them and reuniting with Sava, it becomes apparent that his discussion with the butcher had yielded no surprises as well. Together, they conclude that the blade must possess qualities of being lightweight, long-lasting, and capable of maintaining a sharp edge.
Sava suggests seeking assistance from L'ubor's metal trader acquaintance, as he might have information about a material capable of fulfilling all three requirements. Upon leaving town and meeting with the Trader, players discover a technique involving limestone that can create a blade that largely satisfies these criteria.
As the limestone used in this technique is found locally, the resulting blade would truly embody the essence of Dalimil. A specific location to the south of Dalimil is marked on the map, where players can easily collect three pieces of limestone. They can then return to town and deliver the limestone to Sava.
After obtaining the limestone, Sava can now uncover the outcome of L'ubor's test. L'ubor expresses contentment with Sava's proactive approach, but discloses that the objective of the test was to impart the significance of prioritizing the client's requirements above all when engaging in smithing.
Completing the FF16 quest yields not only experience points, Gil, and Renown rewards but also a Goblin coin as a bonus for players.
