In the charming farming simulation game Rune Factory 3: Special, players can build friendships with the residents of Sharance Town. These friendships are nurtured through regular conversations, fulfilling different requests, and offering specific items to each character.
Each character has their own preferences when it comes to items they like and dislike. They also have a selection of favorite items that have a significant impact on the level of friendship players can attain. Additionally, characters in the game have preferred cologne scents that players can apply by visiting Shara's shop on a daily basis.
How Does Gift Giving Work in RF3:S
Ensuring regular gift-giving to the female characters in the town is crucial for players aiming to progress in the game's storyline, as forming a marital bond with one of these bachelorettes is a mandatory requirement. In this comprehensive guide, we will delve into the art of gift-giving and discovering true love within the enchanting world of Rune Factory 3: Special.Gifts can be bestowed upon all characters, regardless of gender, affording players the opportunity to deepen their understanding of each individual and elevate their connection to its highest level. Nevertheless, the opportunity for romance and the potential for marriage exclusively rests with female characters, allowing for the cultivation of an even more profound and enduring bond.
Each character in the game has their own specific preferences for items, varying from baked goods and gemstones to fish. The eligible bachelorettes in RF3:S also have their own preferences when it comes to gifts, which include things they like, dislike, and even gifts they hate. While some characters have specific desires, others have a wider range of likes, making it easier for players to find the perfect gift.
Apart from the variety of items that can be gifted to increase friendship, players can also visit Shara's shop to receive a random cologne spray each day. Each character has their own preference for these scents and there are no dislikes. If a character doesn't comment on the cologne, no friendship points will be earned from it.
In order to complete the game's story, the character must choose one of RF3:S's bridal candidates to marry. As a result, once the player has made the challenging decision of selecting the lucky lady who has captured their heart, it is crucial for them to ensure that they present their favorite item to her every day. Once the player reaches Level 7 friendship with a female character, she will agree to go on dates with the main character, and at Level 10, the player will have the opportunity to propose and get married.
How to Give Characters Gifts
Every day provides an opportunity for players to discover and interact with the residents of Sharance. These interactions enable players to gain a deeper understanding of each character's personality and occasionally engage in conversations about specific requests. To give a character a gift, players should select and hold the item from their backpack, then approach the character and use the respective hotkey to give them the item. The numbers displayed when giving a gift indicate the amount of health or mana gained when a recovery item is gifted.
The increase in friendship points is shown in the character reputation menu, which can be accessed through the fourth tab in the game menu. The friendship level of characters who can potentially become romantic interests is represented by a heart, while other villagers will display a smiling face. Players are not able to see their current friendship points with a character, only the overall level.
What are the Benefits of Giving Gifts
To maximize friendship points, players should aim to give characters their beloved items (+10), as it rewards the highest amount. However, this may be challenging during the early stages of RF3:S. Liked items, on the other hand, will still increase friendship by a lesser amount (+5), while hated items will significantly decrease (-10) their affection towards the player and should be avoided.
On a character's birthday, presenting them with their favorite gift will double the earned points. Furthermore, if the player wears one of the character's preferred colognes, they will compliment the pleasant scent and earn a small amount of friendship points (+3).
While a character can give multiple gifts, only the highest quality gift given will impact the relationship points for that exchange. This means that if the player mistakenly gives a character their most disliked item, resulting in a decrease of 10 in affection, they can rectify this mistake on the same day by offering a more preferred item. The effect of the previous gift will no longer apply, and instead, the player will only receive the benefit of the most recently given and highest quality item.
All Bachelorette Favorite, Liked, and Hated Gifts in RF3:S
In the event that the player commits the grave error of presenting Raven with a Skull, their actions will incur her temporary wrath, resulting in a deduction of 10 friendship points with the potential bachelorette. Nevertheless, if they promptly approach her again on the same day, bearing a Sun Pendant, one of her most cherished items, the negative impact on their friendship points will be completely annulled. In fact, they will not only regain the lost 10 friendship points but will also add another 10 points on top of their existing bond with that character before the unsettling gift of the eerie skull.
