LEGO games have had a presence for several decades and have produced some of the best family-friendly games to date. While the licensed LEGO titles are well-remembered, the non-licensed ones receive less attention. However, this does not hinder the impending release of LEGO 2K Goooal! Developed by Sumo Digital and 2K, this LEGO soccer game is one of the worst-kept secrets of the past year. With frequent leaks and rumors, it seems like a matter of when, rather than if, LEGO 2K Goooal! will be unveiled. If the leaks hold true, the game's arrival could be imminent.

The Ultimate LEGO 2K Goooal! Rumors and Leaks Unveiled!

The first news about LEGO 2K Goooal! emerged in February 2022, when it was reported exclusively by Video Games Chronicle. According to the report, 2K had acquired the rights to develop several LEGO sports games. The first game in this series was said to be a soccer game developed by Sumo Digital, the studio behind the recently released Texas Chain Saw Massacre game and Sackboy: A Big Adventure from 2020. The report also mentioned an open-world driving game developed by Visual Concepts, which turned out to be LEGO 2K Drive. It was stated that the LEGO soccer game would be released at the end of 2022, coinciding with the FIFA World Cup.

However, the release of LEGO 2K Goooal! did not happen as expected. Despite this, fans continued to hear about the game. Around the same time as the initial report by VGC, a leak surfaced on the internet regarding a LEGO promotional polybag. This polybag included a soccer mascot named Finnius Dash and featured the 2K logo in the corner. Speculation arose that this polybag could be a promotional item for LEGO 2K Goooal!, similar to previous LEGO game special edition polybags like the one for LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the Blue Milk Luke polybag in the deluxe edition of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.

LEGO 2K Goooal! made a reappearance in June 2023, when Gematsu discovered a listing for the game on the Korean rating board. A month later, LEGO 2K Goooal! appeared on both a Taiwanese and South African rating board. Interestingly, the South African rating board also listed a Borderlands: Pandora's Box collection at the same time.

In late July, there was another leak for LEGO 2K Goooal! when the game briefly showed up on Amazon UK. The listing mentioned a release date of September 15 and confirmed that the game would be available on various platforms, including previous-gen consoles and the Nintendo Switch. The price for the PS5 version was listed as £37.40, although this seems low compared to the initial retail price of £49.99 for LEGO 2K Drive on the same platform. The listing was quickly taken down after being noticed. Although there has been no official confirmation, it appears that the reveal and potential release of LEGO 2K Goooal! are imminent.

LEGO 2K Goooal! is reportedly in development.
