Highlights
Lies of P is considered one of the all-time great entries in the Soulslike genre due to its extensive content and high level of polish.
The game's difficulty level increases significantly, particularly beyond the halfway mark, making it crucial for players to farm Ergo in order to enhance their chances of success.
This article outlines various farming routes that players can employ in the early stages of the game. By utilizing these routes, players can level up their characters, thereby increasing their odds of overcoming formidable bosses and enemies.
The Soulslike genre continues to expand with new entries emerging constantly. However, Lies of P has quickly earned its place as one of the top games in this subgenre due to its extensive content and polished gameplay. Surprisingly, Lies of P proves to be quite difficult, particularly after reaching the halfway point.
For players struggling with bosses or enemies in the game, farming Ergo (the in-game currency) to level up a few more times can greatly improve their chances of success. Here are some of the most effective early-game farming routes that have been discovered so far, offering players the opportunity to gain a few additional levels and level the playing field.
All the footage below is sped up to 250 percent and is from a NG+ run. So this means items, Ergo amounts, and enemy difficulty are all skewed accordingly.

Chapter | Location | Amount of Enemies | Average Ergo Gained |
---|---|---|---|
Chapter 1 | Krat Central Station Plaza | 10+ | 410+ |
When it comes to farming locations in the early stages of the game, it doesn't get any earlier than the first chapter. Right after leaving Krat Central Station and activating the first Stargazer in the plaza, players find themselves at Ergo's initial farming spot. This circular plaza area is filled with luggage, horse bodies, human bodies, and broken puppets, creating a deceivingly packed environment with enemies. Players can effectively tackle this area by running around and attracting the attention of all the enemies.
4 Chapter II: Krat City Hall Stargazer
In this area, there are approximately ten enemies, including Candelabra-wielding Puppets and Mechanical Dogs. These enemies can be defeated with just one to three hits at most. Interestingly, defeating all the enemies in one go will reward players with around 400-600 Ergo, although this amount may vary depending on whether they have any Ergo farm-increasing Amulets or P-Organ abilities equipped. For newcomers to this genre of games, utilizing this area to increase their Vitality or Vigor levels can be beneficial if they are facing difficulties against the Parade Master or Scrapped Watchman.

Chapter | Location | Amount of Enemies | Average Ergo Gained |
---|---|---|---|
Chapter 2 | Krat City Hall Stargazer | 8-9 | 938 |
The second farming spot mentioned earlier in Lies of P can actually be discovered quite early in the game, even before facing the game's first major boss, the Scrapped Watchman. This is particularly helpful for players who are new to the Soulslike genre and might be struggling with the Watchman, as it provides them with alternative options to make their gameplay experience a little smoother. All players need to do is use the fast-travel feature to go to the Krat City Hall Stargazer location and follow the path ahead, defeating the various Puppet Soldiers and Mechanical Dogs encountered along the way. As demonstrated in the provided video, some players prefer to rely on their Legion Arm of choice during this process.
When dealing with the Soldiers, players have two options: aim for backstabs or deliver a single swing at each Soldier, which will usually be blocked before they counter with a spinning horizontal slash. However, players can easily break the weapon of the Puppet by executing a Perfect Guard, making it a breeze to eliminate them. By continuously taking out these Puppets and following the twisting path, players will eventually find themselves standing in front of the entrance gate to the Scrapped Watchman. To reset from the Stargazer and repeat the process, simply use the Moonphase Pocket Watch. Additionally, there is a sizable headless puppet located in a side area between the courtyard and the main City Hall building. However, if players find it challenging to repeatedly fight this enemy, they have the option to completely ignore it.
3 Chapter III: Workshop Union Entrance Stargazer

Chapter | Location | Amount of Enemies | Average Ergo Gained |
---|---|---|---|
Chapter 3 | Workshop Union Entrance Stargazer | 2-5 | 252-857 |
The next farming route is significantly shorter compared to the other routes listed. However, it is strategically positioned due to the close proximity of enemies to the Stargazer. To access this route, players must reach Venigni Works and activate the Workshop Union Entrance Stargazer. From there, they simply need to move up the stairs on the right and enter the room on the left. In the back of this room, behind some breakable crates, is a trapdoor that leads to two bulky, non-functioning Puppets and a safe containing the Salamander Dagger. Once this room is cleared, players can open the door at the opposite end and begin using this easy farming route.
To reset the route, players can rest at the Stargazer, return to the room, defeat the two non-functioning puppets, and repeat the cycle. This route may not yield as much loot per run, given that there are only two enemies, but it is one of the simplest farming locations, allowing players to casually grind while watching a YouTube video or engaging in other activities. Additionally, if players wish to extend the route slightly, they can explore the left corner of the Stargazer, eliminate two smaller puppets and an elite large puppet, and then return to the original route room with the two non-functioning puppets.
2 Chapter III: Workshop Union Culvert

Chapter | Location | Amount of Enemies | Average Ergo Gained |
---|---|---|---|
Chapter 3 | Workshop Union Culvert Stargazer | 6+ | 756+ |
Chapter III actually contains two great farming locations for players. One is at the beginning of the area, while the other is closer to the end. Once players activate the Workshop Union Culvert, they will find farming spot number 3. From here, they can head to the right hallway where gigantic flaming balls of discarded puppet parks constantly roll by. Along this long narrow pathway, players will encounter tanky defunct puppets.
The best part is that players don't even have to fight these puppets to obtain free Ergo. They just need to get close enough to aggro the puppets, avoid the incoming flaming orbs, and ensure that the puppets following them are hit by the flaming orbs. By following this method, players can effectively farm Ergo without needing to attack themselves.
1 Chapter V: Malum District Stargazer

Chapter | Location | Amount of Enemies | Average Ergo Gained |
---|---|---|---|
Chapter 5 | Malum District Stargazer | 4+ | 1000+ |
As the final farming spot in Lies of P, Chapter 5 may not be considered early-game anymore, considering the game has a total of 10 chapters. However, due to the subsequent chapters being longer, more challenging, and more focused on the story, many players tend to resort to farming Ergo or upgrade materials in Chapter 5. Players can discover this spot by progressing naturally through the Malum District until they reach the restaurant shortcut that leads back to the Malum District Stargazer.
Once you have opened this shortcut and created the route, head straight to the restaurant situated directly in front of the Stargazer. Inside, you will encounter a group of Carcass basic mobs as well as an elite Carcass mob with long arm spikes. As you become familiar with the timing of the elite's Perfect Guards and the amount of Stagger damage required, you will find that this farming location is highly efficient. Additionally, the best Merchant for throwable items can also be found in this restaurant, making it an excellent spot for players looking to stock up on Shot Puts, Sawblades, Thermites, and Throwing Cells.
