In Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, players are not just tasked with battling the forces of Chaos. Each journey into Tertium is a genuine assignment that requires the skills of an elite strike team under Inquisitor Grendyl's warband. This means that players will need to fulfill different objectives every time they enter a match.

The missions in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide are clear-cut, while also providing some variation in terms of the tasks players must accomplish once they are deployed. Here is the comprehensive list of mission types currently available in the game, as of Patch 13.

All Mission Types in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide

The Ultimate Guide to Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Missions - Unveiling the Thrilling Variety!

There are a total of seven mission types spread across 16 maps as of writing. These maps often overlap with each other, particularly those that are located in the same region. While major objectives take place in dedicated rooms, these rooms are mainly used as connectors to other areas when they are reused. Please refer to the following table for the complete list of maps and missions:

It is highly advised to keep track of missions as they are crucial for completing mission-related Penances in each of the four classes. Unlocking free class-specific cosmetics, mainly helmets, requires the completion of these Penances. Although they are referred to by different names for each class, the objective remains unchanged:

Vantage Point (Veteran)

Praise the God-Emperor! (Zealot)

Touch the Void (Psyker)

Beat-em-Up (Ogryn)

The game has tiered Penances based on difficulty levels. To reach the first achievement tier, players must beat each mission on either Sedition or Uprising. Additionally, they need to complete one mission of each type 14 more times: seven on Malice and another seven on Heresy difficulty. By completing these Penances, players will contribute to unlocking a purple-grade cosmetic helmet as part of a broader class-specific Penance.

There is currently no method available in Patch 13 to track players' in-game mission completions, except for a counter that indicates the number of unique mission types already finished. Consequently, it is strongly advised to prioritize completing Hab Dreyko and Power Matrix initially. These missions are the sole ones in their respective categories, and locating them in the Mission Terminal rotation may prove challenging.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is now accessible on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
