Prior to this, The Summerset Isles remained relatively mysterious, but players have had access to its major cities for several years now.

The Summerset Isles, also known as home to the Altmer or High Elves, is one of the least seen locations in Tamriel, along with places like Black Marsh. Despite its limited presence, the province's geopolitical significance following its takeover by the Thalmor should not be underestimated. As part of the Third Aldmeri Dominion, which includes Valenwood and Elsweyr, The Summerset Isles serve as a stronghold for the High Elf population, with their fourteen islands serving as a seat of power. Among these islands, the largest three are of particular relevance. The Elder Scrolls Online, set during the Second Era, provides a detailed depiction of Summerset and its province during this time period.

Key Locations Across The Summerset Isles' Three Major Islands

ESO embarked on a deep exploration of Summerset, the largest island in the province. The capital city of Alinor represents the pinnacle of High Elven society, while ancient structures like the Crystal Tower have stood since before the Altmer existed. With its lush landscapes, warm climate, towering mountains, and picturesque coastlines, Summerset is home to the major cities that drive the province's economy.

From the impressive Cloudrest on the peak of the northern mountain, Eton Nir, to the bustling ports of Shimmerene in the east and the scenic Dusk in the southeast, Summerset boasts a wealth of beautiful and historically significant establishments. In the south, the walled city of Sunhold stands proudly, while the scholarly Lilandril is nestled in the western hills of the island. Additionally, the eastern kingdom of Moridunon holds a special connection to the magical Psijic Order, and the town of Rellenthil serves as the vibrant center of Summerset's theater culture, just north of Alinor.

The second-largest island in Tamriel, Auridon, is believed to be the initial landing place of the Altmer. It is home to the ancient city of Firsthold, the birthplace of the Mages Guild, and the bustling trade city of Skywatch, which has a troubled history with the sluglike Sload species. In the southern region, the port town of Vukhel Guard is more welcoming to outsiders and is renowned for its enigmatic ties to a minor island.

Located southwest of Summerset, the final significant landmass is Artaeum. The northern part of the island is dominated by the ancient Ceporah Tower, serving as the headquarters of the Psijic Order. The remainder of the land is predominantly filled with natural wonders. Due to the mystical powers of its inhabitants, Artaeum has the extraordinary ability to periodically vanish into another realm for extended periods before reappearing mysteriously.

Off the coast of Auridon, lies the smaller island of Dranil Kir. It shares a similar fate to the Psijic Order, as it has mysteriously vanished. Coral Aerie, Silatar, Callus Lair, Buraniim Isle, and Auridon's Isle of Contemplation are all sparsely inhabited locations, while Wasten Coridale, Belport Run, and Errirnorne Isle have a rich history of settlement and trade. The College of Sapiarchs, an isle known for its renowned magical scholars, completes this diverse group. Eyevea, the last minor island, also experienced years of teleportation before returning, a common occurrence in the Summerset Isles.
