Stars often find themselves rapidly falling in love while filming a reality TV show, and The Challenge competitors are no different. Despite initial doubt from fans, Paulie Calafiore and Cara Maria Sorbello proved them wrong by forming a genuine connection after meeting on Final Reckoning in 2018. They continued to compete together on War of the Worlds later that year and War of the Worlds 2 in 2019.
They temporarily halted the filming of their reality TV show to prioritize their personal growth as individuals and as a couple. Eventually, they made the decision to relocate to Montana and live together.
In an exclusive interview with We magazine in June 2023, Calafiore expressed their desires to have children and get married. He addressed Sorbello's initial reluctance to the idea of marriage, recounting instances where she referred to herself as his mistress during meet and greets, despite them actually being in a committed relationship.
She expressed, "I truly desire to marry [Paulie]. It's something I've never said before, but he is the person I envision spending the rest of my life with. He is my best friend."
While Sorbello and Calafiore are a new couple on The Challenge, there are others who have withstood the test of time. Sean Duffy and Rachel Campos met during the inaugural season of The Challenge in 1998, originally called Road Rules: All Stars. They tied the knot the following year and went on to have nine children.
