Another feature of the game is the option to wed any of the 12 available bachelors and bachelorettes, forming a family together on the farm. However, for those who prefer to marry their romantic or platonic partners, the game also allows players to exchange vows in-game. Wooing the marriage candidates in Stardew Valley is typically a time-consuming endeavor. Even the quickest candidates, Hailey and Shane, require a minimum of two to three in-game months to pursue a relationship. Apart from increasing affection levels, players must also participate in their chosen candidate's heart events, upgrade their own house, and obtain a Mermaid’s Pendant, which is exclusively available on rainy days.

But if players choose to marry each other, they can bypass these steps and proceed directly to the proposal. However, even though the process is simplified, it can still be a challenging experience, particularly if players opt to tie the knot early on in the game.

How To Marry Other Players

There are three steps to marrying another player in Stardew Valley. Depending on how prepared players are, they can marry their partners almost immediately after the first step.

Buy The Wedding Ring Blueprint

Instead of purchasing a Mermaid’s Pendant, players are required to buy the blueprint for the Wedding Ring from the Traveling Cart. The Traveling Cart can be found in Cindersap Forest, located south of Grandpa’s Farm and west of Marnie’s Ranch, near the Forest Lake. If players visit the Cart between 6 AM and 8 PM on Friday and Saturday, they will have the opportunity to purchase the recipe for the Wedding Ring for 500g.

Players should note that the recipe will only appear if the player is in multiplayer mode.

Craft The Wedding Ring

Crafting the Wedding Ring can be a time-consuming task, especially for players who are just starting out. It requires five Iridium Bars and one Prismatic Shard, both of which can be challenging to obtain. However, there are different methods available for acquiring these materials, some of which may be easier than others.

Iridium ore can be discovered in various locations such as the Skull Cavern, Iridium Nodes, Mystic Stones, Magma Geodes, and Omni Geodes. To obtain iridium bars, one can defeat purple slimes, iridium bats, shadow shaman, and shadow brutes. Additionally, Prismatic Shards can be found in Mystic Stones, Iridium Nodes, and occasionally in a treasure room within the Skull Cavern.

After obtaining the Wedding Ring, players simply need to present it as a gift to their significant other. It is important to note that the wedding ceremony will occur three days after the proposal has been accepted. To ensure a smooth and timely wedding, players may consider planning ahead to avoid any potential delays caused by town square events that may coincide with the intended wedding day.

Benefits Of A Multiplayer Marriage

After getting married, both partners receive a Stardrop as a special gift. This Stardrop is delivered in a giftbox that magically appears in their shared home following the wedding. Unlike the traditional NPC marriages, this option allows players to obtain the Stardrop without the need to reach 12.5 hearts with their spouses first.

Similar to NPC marriages, players can also have children in their relationship. However, there are a few requirements for this to happen. They need to have the kids' room upgrade in their home and can only have one child or none at all. Additionally, both players must sleep in the same bed. Once these conditions are met, the game will randomly present an option for one player to propose having a child to their partner.

In addition to these advantages, marriage in the game does not offer any other in-game rewards. Nonetheless, players frequently choose to get married for the sake of role-playing, to avoid being single, or for various other motives.
