How To Make Money With Nectar Making Skill

Nectar Making is a new mini skill introduced in The Sims 4 franchise through the Horse Ranch Expansion pack. This feature, previously available in The Sims: Makin' Magic and The Sims 3: World Adventures, can now be enjoyed by players in The Sims 4. Nectar making in the game closely resembles the process of making wine in real life. Players are required to crush fruits and other materials in a large bucket and store them to age and increase their value. Moreover, consuming nectar can provide certain moodlets to Sims. It's important to note that nectar is not suitable for child and younger Sims.

levels in total and allows Sims to unlock additional benefits and recipes as they progress. This skill also offers a way to generate passive income and complements other skills such as gardening. However, those interested in making money through this skill must carefully consider various factors. Alternatively, for those who simply want to enjoy a delicious glass of nectar with other Sims, it can be a realistic and unique activity.

Consistently making nectar is the only way to increase Nectar Making Skill. Consuming or reading a skill book won't work because there is no available book for it. The good news is that making nectar is not expensive at all. Players just need to purchase a Nectar Maker for 350 Simoleons and gather the right ingredients. Sims who enjoy gardening may have an advantage if they are willing to grow fruits like strawberries. Alternatively, players can buy basic ingredients such as apples, strawberries, potatoes, grapes, and lemons directly from the Nectar Maker. Once equipped, players need to keep making nectar until they reach the skill's maximum level. Certain bonus traits or character traits can speed up this process, but without them, players will have to produce over 50 bottles of nectar to fully master this skill.

When it comes to making money from it, the process is quite lengthy as several factors influence the potential earnings. One important aspect for players to consider is the nectar's quality, which can range from Poor, Normal, to Excellent. Additionally, the age of the nectar also plays a role, with options like not-aged, lightly aged, moderately aged, or finely aged.

The quality of the nectar depends on various factors, including the ingredient quality and the player's level of skill in making nectar. Furthermore, Sims with certain characteristics, like being a Perfectionist, may have a higher chance of creating higher-quality nectar right from the start. It's worth noting that players with a high skill level can create excellent quality nectar even with basic ingredients, while those with perfect quality ingredients can achieve the same result with a lower skill level.

When it comes to the aging process, players simply need to wait for an extended period of time. While the nectar can age in the inventory or be stacked indoors, it is recommended for players to purchase Stackable Nectar Racks. These racks help in organizing the nectar, as each rack can store 13 bottles. Additionally, they make it easier to keep track of the aging process and collect finely aged nectar. Placing a Nectar Rack in a basement can also speed up the aging process. Otherwise, the aging duration is as follows:

Lightly Aged - 2 Sim Days

Moderately Aged - 5 Sim Days

Finely Aged - 7-8 Sim Days

There is no variation in durations based on the type of nectar. However, the type of nectar does impact the amount of Simoleons players can earn from it. Generally, a nectar type that is unlocked with a higher level of skill requirement is worth more than an Apple Nectar of the same age and quality. The highest value is attributed to the Vitality Nectar. Therefore, those aiming to make money should focus on higher level nectars, though they can still use apples to make fruit nectar if desired. To maximize its value, it is highly recommended to only sell the nectar when it is matured.

For the purpose of making money, it is suggested that players select the Rancher trait and prioritize the Expert Nectar Maker Aspiration. This combination will help produce more bottles with fewer ingredients and speed up the aging process. Furthermore, selling the nectar to Roberto Crinkletop, a newly introduced pre-made Sim, can be more profitable as he offers a higher purchasing price. Actively harvesting Prairie Grass may also be beneficial as it can provide not only basic ingredients but occasionally whole nectars that can be aged.

Nectar Recipes

There is a total of 13 nectar recipes, with 10 of them accessible to all Sims. However, the remaining 3 recipes are exclusive to specific occult life-states, namely Vampires, Spellcasters, and Werewolves.
