Far Cry 6 offers a plethora of missions to engage players and keep them occupied. To fully immerse oneself in the game's narrative, plot, and characters, it is advisable to undertake as many missions as possible. This not only enhances the overall gaming experience but also allows players to acquire new recruits and weapons along the way.

Far Cry 6 offers a total of 106 missions located throughout Yara's five regions. These missions are categorized into Operations, Yaran Stories, and Treasure Hunts. However, the red icons on the minimap labeled "Ambush" or "Checkpoints" are not considered objectives.

Update as of June 28th, 2023 by Hodey Johns: Rest assured, Far Cry 6 provides ample activities to keep players engaged. From farming and crafting to exploration, players can easily spend hours without even delving into the game's main missions. When players do decide to embark on missions, they will be pleasantly surprised at how one mission seamlessly leads to another. Escort quests, for example, often open up new areas with multiple quest-givers awaiting. To prevent overwhelming confusion, this guide has been updated to provide a breakdown of each mission based on their respective locations, whenever possible (although some missions may span across multiple areas). Additionally, sections covering DLCs and the Expansion have been included, and the final list of Special Operations has been compiled.

Operations (Main Story)

To beat the game, players who don't seek 100% completion only need to focus on completing the Operations. These quests form an integral part of the campaign and drive the narrative conflict between Libertad, its allies, and Castillo.

Each Yaran Region on the map features Operations that players can undertake. Following the Prologue, players will need to travel by air or boat from Zamok Archipelago (Libertad HQ) to any of the Regions.

Far Cry 6 offers a grand total of 56 Operations for players to engage in. It is worth noting that missions labeled with (*) will grant access to amigos. As you embark on these missions, keep your eyes peeled for hidden secrets that have eluded many players thus far.

After completing the operations on Isla Santuario, players have the freedom to choose their next destination. However, Clara strongly encourages Dani to head to Madrugada initially. This choice entails assisting the Montero Family in their conflict against Jose Castillo. The captivating storyline presented in this region is widely regarded as one of the defining factors that contribute to the game's excellence within the franchise. Get ready to meet the Monteros.

The missions are set in the Valle de Oro region. In comparison to the Monteros, there are two extra sidequests available. Unlike Madrugada and El Este, Dani must first secure the Guerrilla Camp before commencing any of the Maximas Operations. It is advisable to acquire one of the top sniper rifles in the game to effectively eliminate targets from a distance.

In the El Este region, it is advised not to use a flying vehicle to reach the objective marker "Meet the Legends" due to the presence of an Anti-Aircraft Canon near the coast. Players can opt to travel by boat or choose to walk/drive from Valle de Oro. Alternatively, they can equip top-notch gear and be ready to bail out during mid-flight.

Yaran Stories

Yaran Stories are indicated by purple markers on the map. Completing Yaran Missions will unlock additional Guerrilla Bases or recruit Bandido Leaders. However, certain Operations must be finished before accessing Yaran Stories.

There are a total of 29 Yaran Stories in the game. Players who are not aiming for 100% completion can choose to skip these. Nonetheless, it should be noted that tackling some of the most challenging outposts in the series is necessary to fully complete these stories.

Treasure Hunts

Players can engage in Treasure Hunts to gather valuable materials and obtain upgraded gear and weapons. Discovering new Treasure Hunt locations is as simple as investigating objects marked with an exclamation point.

Madrugada

Treasure Hunts differ from other mission types by guiding Dani to a designated area on the minimap upon mission commencement. Unlike Operations or Yaran Stories, their objectives are less focused. The game features a total of 21 Treasure Hunts.

These missions can be completed solo or in co-op and offer generous rewards of Moneda. To unlock them, you need to secure Guerrilla Camps and then speak to Lola. You can easily spot these missions by their blue and white star icon. What sets them apart from other missions is that all the rewards for Special Operations are clearly displayed on the selection screen.

DLCs & Expansions

At present, there are four latest enhancements in Far Cry 6, consisting of a comprehensive Expansion and three DLCs. These new additions transcend the conventional concept of "missions." Further elaboration on this peculiar occurrence shall be provided in the following section.

Vaas: Insanity, Pagan: Control, & Joseph: Collapse

The initial trio of DLCs offer roguelike adventures, with each one serving as an individual mission. Building upon the regular game mechanics, these DLCs ingeniously restrict players from straying off the map, thereby immersing them in a captivating cycle of replayability.

Lost Between Worlds Expansion

Each DLC features multiple objectives, which collectively form a cohesive "quest." However, labeling it as a traditional mission doesn't quite capture its essence, as the completion of these events leads to a replay. Instead, each objective can be seen as an individual experience, contributing to the overall gameplay.

Similar to the DLCs, the Lost Between Worlds expansion offers a unique roguelike experience that sets it apart from the rest. What makes it even more special is its seamless integration into Dani's storyline in Yara. Although various portals still transport Dani outside of Yara, it's crucial to equip yourself with some expert tips to navigate this exciting new element of the game.

Due to the structure of the game, the missions in the expansion are not numbered. This aligns with the rest of the DLC's roguelike content, where objectives are intentionally designed to be dynamic and replayable. Instead of completing missions, they constantly refresh, allowing players to constantly strive for the best loadouts by actively participating and engaging in the gameplay.
