A guidebook themed around "The Way of the Househusband" is scheduled for release at the end of next month. The upcoming guidebook, titled "The Way of the Househusband: Gangster's Guide to Housekeeping," will include 25 recipes and a range of housekeeping tips and tricks inspired by the anime and manga series. It will also provide a detailed how-to guide on tidying up your home in anticipation of the summer season. Written by Victoria Rosental and Laurie Ulster, the guidebook is slated to be published on July 25th.
The author of The Gangster's Guide to Housekeeping is Laurie Ulster, a versatile writer and producer who also co-wrote the upcoming Brooklyn 99 guidebook. The book features recipes by Victoria Rosental, known for her recipe books based on dishes from videogames like God of War: The Official Cookbook of the Nine Realms. Additionally, The Gangster's Guide to Housekeeping includes exclusive artwork by series author Keisuke Oono. The Way of the Househusband series follows the story of "The Immortal Tatsu", a former yakuza with a fearsome reputation for taking down rival factions. After retiring from a life of crime, Tatsu becomes a dedicated homemaker to support his wife, Miku.
Originally released as a limited series on Shinchosha's online manga magazine, Kurage Bunch, the manga quickly gained popularity, leading to its full-time serialization in May of the same year. Scheduled for release in July of this year, the 12th volume of The Way of the Househusband manga series is published in English by VIZ Media since September 2019.
The English translation of the tenth volume of The Way of the Househusband manga is set to release in August. This manga series has been adapted into various forms of media, including an anime series that was announced as an Original Net Animation at the Netflix Anime Festival in October 2020. The anime, produced by J.C. Staff and directed by Chiaki Kon, was released in April 2021. Kenjiro Tsuda voiced the character Tatsu, who is known for his role as Mikoto Suoh in K-Project. Additionally, The Gangster's Guide to Housekeeping will be published on July 25.
