Highlights

Genshin Impact version 4.0 will introduce new characters on the five-star waiting list, with two appearing in each banner cycle.

In the previous update, version 3.8, the emphasis was placed on the Secret Summer Paradise event, showcasing new skins for Klee and Kaeya.

Despite being absent from multiple recent updates, beloved characters like Albedo and Venti continue to be favored by players for their exceptional abilities and unique playstyles.

The latest Genshin Impact chart reveals the lineup of five-star characters to be expected in version 4.0, following confirmation from HoYoverse. Typically, each update brings forth four distinct five-star characters, with two featured in each banner cycle. Notably, the 3.8 update within the Sumeru arc was the sole exception, as it did not introduce any new characters.

Nonetheless, Genshin Impact 3.8 offers an array of captivating quests connected to this year's primary summer event titled Secret Summer Paradise. Furthermore, the update includes the addition of two fresh skins for the beloved characters Klee and Kaeya. While considerable excitement surrounds this event, all attention is now focused on the upcoming update that will finally unveil the new Fontaine region.

RapidFresh, a Reddit user, has shared an intriguing chart ranking playable characters based on the number of updates they have missed. The top spot on this list is occupied by two beloved characters: Albedo, the Geo alchemist, and Venti, the Anemo bow user who was the first Archon introduced in the game. These two characters were initially featured in the Genshin Impact update 3.1, which also introduced three new characters: Cyno, Nilou, and Candace.

Venti, like other Archons in the game, is considered an S-tier support character due to his versatility with the Anemo element and his ability to complement almost any team composition. Moreover, he is friendly to free-to-play players as they can enhance his viability by equipping him with the Viridescent Venerer set, which weakens enemies' resistances. Albedo, on the other hand, is a highly popular five-star support character and is widely regarded as the second strongest Geo user in Genshin Impact, following Zhongli.

Albedo's playstyle is quite straightforward. Players simply need to place his Solar Isotoma before their DPS rotation and use his Elemental Burst whenever it's available. According to the chart, three five-star characters have missed six consecutive updates: Arataki Itto, Raiden Shogun, and Kamisato Ayato. Itto, like Albedo, is also a Geo user, but his primary role is as the main DPS. Players who wish to use Itto in this role should aim to acquire the four-star unit Gorou, who serves as his go-to support.

Raiden Shogun is arguably the most popular character in Genshin Impact, which is supported by the game's sales reports. All of her banner appearances have achieved high rankings on the all-time revenue list. Players can anticipate Raiden Shogun receiving a banner re-run in the first Fontaine updates.

Genshin Impact is now available on Mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5. A Switch version is in development.
