Are You Ready? Fans of The Polar Express are eagerly anticipating a potential sequel, The Christmas Express, set to hit theaters this year. But is this just wishful thinking or is it the real deal?

The original film, The Polar Express, was released in 2004 and was directed by Robert Zemeckis. It featured Tom Hanks in a variety of roles, including as the iconic character, Santa Claus. The movie tells the heartwarming story of a young boy who has lost his Christmas spirit.

Feeling disheartened by deceit and letdowns, the sound of a train disrupts his home in the late hours. Where could it be headed? "To the North Pole, obviously - it's the Polar Express!"

The film was a hit at the box office and has since become a beloved holiday favorite. So, the announcement of a sequel has generated much excitement. As hundreds of thousands of eager fans anticipate The Christmas Express, here's what we can expect.

Is there a Polar Express sequel called The Christmas Express coming out?

No, The Christmas Express isn’t real, nor is there a Polar Express sequel in development.

The supposed live-action Family Guy movie and the images of Will Smith as Adolf Hitler and Tom Hanks as Martin Luther King Jr. in Netflix biopics have been debunked as fake. The source of this misinformation is a fake poster for a movie called The Christmas Express, shared by a self-proclaimed satire page called YODA BBY ABY. The caption claims it's a "POLAR EXPRESS PREQUEL!!!" tricking people into believing it's a real movie.

The poster claims the movie will be released in December 2023 exclusively on Max – again, this is a total lie.

The page takes it a step further by sharing what appears to be an official synopsis naming Hanks’ iconic conductor as Woodford Newton in The Christmas Express. It details a heartwarming holiday adventure where Woodford is chosen by an angel to become the Christmas Spirit. However, this post has been shared over 111,000 times with more than 57,000 comments, but it's all fake. We encourage everyone to look closer and remember that "believing is seeing."

As a Gen Z netizen, I have mixed feelings about the news that The Christmas Express is not real and that there is no Polar Express sequel in development. On one hand, I am disappointed that I won't be able to see a continuation of the beloved story. The Polar Express is a classic holiday film that I grew up watching and it would have been great to see what happened to the characters next.

On the other hand, I am relieved that the news is not true. The Polar Express is a perfect movie and I don't think a sequel could ever live up to the original. I am also glad that the fake news about the sequel has been debunked. I have seen a lot of misinformation online lately and it's important to be able to tell the difference between what is real and what is not.
