Superheroes have had a consistent presence on animated television since the 1960s. Animation allows for the depiction of unimaginable superhuman powers and feats, making it the perfect medium for superhero adaptations. As a result, there have been more successful superhero adaptions in animation than in live-action.
Animation has brought forth numerous incredible stories throughout the years. Whether it's within the DC or Marvel universe, shows like Teen Titans and Wolverine and the X-Men have entertained audiences with their great adaptations. These shows not only satisfied critics and fans, but also left room for potential follow-ups. In the era of reboots, remakes, and sequels, it is only fitting for these animated triumphs to make a comeback, eagerly awaited by fans.
10. 'Static Shock' (2000-2004)
Static Shock, one of the top superhero animated TV shows, centers around 14-year-old Virgil Hawkins, also known as Static, a superhero with the incredible ability to generate and control energy. After a gas explosion grants him his powers, it is revealed that others in his community have also gained abilities, but instead become supervillains known as the "Bang Babies." Virgil embarks on a mission to protect his community from these threats.
Although the show concluded its fourth and final season in 2004, nearly twenty years have passed, leaving a wealth of untapped Static Shock comic stories. DC has the perfect opportunity to create a new series featuring Static, and with the inclusion of talented actors like Phil LaMarr, the revival of this iconic version of the character is bound to achieve great success.

Pryde of the X-Men would have focused on Kitty Pryde's early days as a member of the X-Men. This show would have been the conclusion of the animated universe that included the popular Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends and The Incredible Hulk.
When it comes to shows that were unfortunately canceled before they could air, Pryde of the X-Men stands at the top of the list. Only the pilot episode was ever shown before production was halted due to Marvel's well-known financial issues at the time. Given these unfortunate circumstances, it seems fitting that Pryde of the X-Men deserves another opportunity for success. However, with the upcoming X-Men '97 premiering on Disney+ next year, it's unlikely that fans will have a chance to see this overlooked show again.
8. 'Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes' (2006)
Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes takes you on thrilling episodic adventures with Marvel's First Family as they confront their most formidable adversaries. From epic battles with Annihilus, the Super Skrull, Ronan the Accuser, to their ultimate nemesis, Doctor Doom.
In its limited one-season run, Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes captivated audiences with its awe-inspiring showcase. The inclusion of renowned Marvel heroes like She-Hulk, Peter Parker, and Iron Man, coupled with exceptional animation, resulted in a highly entertaining viewing experience. Undoubtedly, fans universally agree that the show remained criminally underrated and is in dire need of a revival. Considering Marvel's uneven track record in bringing the Fantastic Four to life on the big screen, it might be that the First Family thrives best on the small screen.
7. 'Beware the Batman' (2013-2014)
Beware the Batman is a captivating series that delves into Bruce Wayne's early years as the Caped Crusader. The show takes an intriguing twist by introducing his goddaughter, who assumes the identity of Katana to fight crime alongside Batman at night. Throughout the day, she serves as Bruce Wayne's trusted bodyguard.
Unfortunately, Cartoon Network abruptly halted the show without any explanation, leaving fans questioning its fate. Eventually, their fears were confirmed when the network decided to cancel it entirely. This decision was particularly disheartening for fans as Beware the Batman stood apart from previous adaptations with its cutting-edge CG animation and refreshing tone. Given its distinctive and innovative approach, there is a strong demand for a well-deserved comeback for this exceptional series.
6. 'Green Lantern: The Animated Series' (2011-2013)

During their confrontation with the villain Atrocitus, they unexpectedly encounter a Red Lantern named Razer. With the talented Josh Keaton portraying the character of Hal Jordan and a captivating storyline, Green Lantern: The Animated Series became highly cherished among fans.
Following the release of the 2011 Green Lantern film starring Ryan Reynolds, the Green Lantern franchise has faced its fair share of setbacks in the media. However, many fans of the character consider this animated series to be a remarkable adaptation that truly showcases his essence. Unfortunately, the infamously dreadful Green Lantern film, which is often regarded as one of the worst superhero movies of all time, may have influenced the decline of this exceptional show. It is disheartening considering the stark contrast in quality between the two projects.

The X-Men disbanded after a catastrophic explosion at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Nevertheless, when the new Mutant Response Division starts capturing mutants worldwide, Wolverine must rally the X-Men once more to avert an imminent war.
Wolverine and the X-Men garnered an impressive audience, earning one of the highest ratings for Nicktoons Network. However, the show got canceled after just one season. It could be attributed to the lukewarm response to the previous X-Men films, particularly the notorious X-Men: The Last Stand released three years prior, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which coincided with the airing of Wolverine and the X-Men.
4. 'Teen Titans' (2003-2006)
The Teen Titans series followed DC's popular young hero team and showcased the thrilling adventures of Robin, Starfire, Beast Boy, Cyborg, and Raven. These teenagers confronted various iconic DC villains, including their archenemy Slade. The show is renowned for propelling Raven into the mainstream and presenting notable evidence of the Robin/Starfire romance, as seen in the Titans' iconic comic book run in the 1980s by Marv Wolfman and George Perez.
There is a notable absence of negative discussions surrounding the Teen Titans series. Highly regarded by fans and recognized as one of the best superhero animated shows of the 21st century, the love for this series knows no bounds. Since its conclusion in 2005, audiences have continuously demanded a revival, even with the unexpected popularity of the reboot, Teen Titans GO!.

Apart from its extensive roster, the show is praised for its exceptionally well-crafted plot, which delves into profound character development and compelling story arcs. This animated rendition of Marvel's mightiest heroes captivates viewers and earns their affection.
2. 'Batman Beyond' (1999-2001)
In the year 2040, due to old age, Bruce Wayne must retire as Batman and pass the torch to rebellious youngster Terry McGinnis. Together, they work to combat crime in Neo-Gotham, facing off against futuristic villains as well as those from Bruce's past. Batman Beyond was a refreshing change for fans who had witnessed the trials and tribulations of Bruce Wayne's Batman in the iconic Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League. The show amassed a dedicated fan base, with countless supporters petitioning for its return in animation or as a live-action adaptation since its conclusion in 2001.
1. 'The Spectacular Spider-Man' (2008-2009)
Peter Parker, by day a teenager navigating the challenges of high school, transforms into the crime-fighting superhero Spider-Man at night. As his summer comes to a close, both his personal and superhero lives become more complex with the emergence of various supervillains in New York and a potential romance with Gwen Stacy.
Since its cancellation, fans have been passionately campaigning to bring back The Spectacular Spider-Man, just like DC did with Young Justice. This dedicated fanbase has launched an online movement using the hashtag #SaveSpectacularSpiderManMovement. The movement has gained significant momentum, with some speculating that the surprise appearance of the show in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was influenced by the overwhelming fan support. Regardless of the truth behind these claims, it is undeniable that The Spectacular Spider-Man stands as one of the finest animated adaptations of the beloved Web-Slinger, deserving of a revival.
