Brianne Howey, Scott Porter, and other cast members of the Netflix show Ginny & Georgia not only portray romance on screen but have also found love in their personal lives. Howey, in particular, has been in a long-term relationship with Matt Ziering. However, their wedding had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as shared by Howey in January 2021.
"We first crossed paths over five years ago, to be precise, a little more than five years ago," Howey shared with Los Angeles Magazine. "Coincidentally, we happened to bump into each other on three consecutive nights at a few bars in LA."
Ziering chimed in, saying, "It wasn't entirely coincidental though, as we had a few mutual friends. And now, here we are!"
The couple shared that their original plan to get married in October 2020 was disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Howey expressed that they had to make the difficult decision to postpone their wedding.
Ziering added with optimism, stating their hopes of finally getting married in the year 2021.
In the meantime, the Exorcist alum expressed her excitement over another significant milestone achieved by the couple. "Instead of having a wedding in 2020, we decided to welcome a puppy into our lives!" she shared during that time. Eventually, they were able to exchange vows and officially get married in July 2021.
Howey's onscreen romantic partner, Porter, has also shared details about his marriage to his wife, Kelsey Mayfield, throughout the years. The two first crossed paths while Porter was filming Friday Night Lights, and Mayfield was a student and cheerleader at the University of Texas at Austin. They tied the knot in April 2013 in Texas, but faced challenges due to their long-distance relationship.
Porter revealed that they often face significant periods of physical separation, but they have found ways to bridge the distance. One of their strategies involves having "TV dates" where they both use iChat to connect virtually. Additionally, Porter utilizes a Slingbox, which enables him to remotely control his cable box from anywhere in the world through an internet connection on his laptop. This allows him to select and watch a show that they both enjoy, helping them feel connected despite being apart.
Interestingly, Porter also shared that his experience filming CW's Hart of Dixie from 2011 to 2015 has positively impacted his relationship.
In February 2021, he expressed his gratitude for the timing of "Hart of Dixie" as it coincided with his preparations for marriage and starting a family. He appreciated the show's light and airy nature, which he was ready for during that time. Additionally, Porter frequently shares heartfelt messages about his wife on social media, allowing fans to catch a glimpse of their marriage.
"Eight years ago today, @kiwiporter, we joined our lives together. I am grateful for your presence in my life, for the way you have healed me, supported me, forgiven me, and fought alongside me. You have stood by my side, built a future with me, and together we have created and learned so much. Your love has taught me invaluable lessons, and I am in awe of your strength, beauty, intelligence, and generous spirit. Your light shines brightly, and I am constantly amazed by you."
He goes on to say, "I know I am not a perfect man, but you have made me a better person. Marriage and life have their challenges, but you face them head-on and fight fiercely for our love and our family. Your determination and resilience inspire me every day. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have you by my side. Today, on our anniversary, I want to express my deepest gratitude for everything - for marrying me, for allowing me to share this journey with you. I love you with all my heart. Happy Anniversary, my dear!"

Hart of Dixie arrived during a significant period in my life when my wife and I were on the verge of marriage and embarking on the journey of starting a family. Porter consistently shares glimpses of his married life with fans, frequently expressing affectionate messages to his wife through social media platforms.

Your unwavering dedication never fails to impress me. I am fully aware of how fortunate I am. Today, I express my gratitude for every aspect of our journey, for marrying me, and for allowing me to stand beside you in life. I adore you. Happy Anniversary, my love!"
