Episode 1 recap
In the first episode of Season 3, Naofumi informs his team that they now have a 3.5-month window to get ready for the upcoming Guardian Beast, the Phoenix. He also highlights the fact that he and his team were previously hindered as fighters due to the curse inflicted by Kyo Ethnina in the previous season. Adding to the worry is the revelation that the other heroes have been missing ever since Kyo's assault, which raises significant concerns considering the imminent arrival of the Phoenix.
Naofumi later uncovered the whereabouts of the Staff Hero, one of the Vassal Heroes in his world. Under Queen Melromarc's guidance, Naofumi ventured into a hidden space beneath her castle where he learned that her daughter, who had falsely accused him, had vanished and potentially harbored sinister intentions.
In this secret chamber, Naofumi and his companions encountered the Staff Hero, a cantankerous elderly gentleman. From there, they embarked on a journey to reconnect with old comrades and acquaintances in town, fulfilling a multitude of tasks and errands.
The group proceeded to Zeltoble, the capital city, where they met with the Slave Merchant at a local tavern. From there, they were escorted to a slave auction, where a few of the slaves deceitfully claimed to hail from Lurolona Village.
Subsequently, the Slave Merchant disclosed the existence of an underground arena where Naofumi could engage in battles to earn substantial amounts of money, allowing him to purchase the freedom of the enslaved individuals. The episode concluded with Naofumi and his companions discovering the arena and completing the registration process to participate.
