Episode 6 recap
In the sixth episode of Season 3, the story introduces Ren before his arrival in Raphtalia's world, highlighting his reputation for being skilled in video games. However, just like in Raphtalia's world, his arrogance leads to the demise of his entire party at the hands of the Spirit Tortoise. In the present time, Ren convinces himself that partnering with Malty will break his streak of misfortune, but he wakes up to find her gone, having stolen from him and left a note calling him worthless.
Ren is then assaulted by a group of hooded individuals. He escapes and seeks refuge in a random house, only to be evicted due to his failure to fight against the Spirit Tortoise. Running away once more, he encounters a party in the nearby forest and impulsively attacks them in a fit of rage. In the chaos, he manages to steal one of their masks and eventually confronts Motoyasu in combat. Naofumi, having witnessed Ren's use of a Curse series weapon in the previous episode, approaches the scene.
Ren, in an attempt to kill Naofumi, faces interference from Naofumi's party just in the nick of time. Ultimately, Éclair steps up to the challenge and defeats Ren as his greed begins to consume him. Later, the mysterious hooded men resurface, and Naofumi recognizes them as the individuals from S’yne’s world. Despite Naofumi's concerns about their fatigue, Motoyasu effortlessly dispatches both of them. The scene concludes with Éclair offering to train Ren, a proposal to which he readily agrees.
What to expect (speculative)
Now that Ren and Motoyasu have joined forces with Naofumi’s group, it is anticipated that episode 7 of The Rising of the Shield Hero season 3 will uncover the whereabouts of Itsuki Kawasumi, the Bow Hero. The focus is expected to shift towards Itsuki and his party, setting the stage for Naofumi and his companions to eventually locate them. A similar approach will be taken as was done with Motoyasu and Ren’s reintroductions.
In The Rising of the Shield Hero season 3 episode 7, it is expected that Itsuki will strongly refuse to join Naofumi, even more so than Ren and Motoyasu. This is most likely because of his connection with Rishia Ivyred, who has become an important member of Naofumi's team after leaving Itsuki. Make sure to stay updated on The Rising of the Shield Hero news, as well as other anime, manga, film, and live-action updates, throughout 2022.
