In episode 4, the team dealt with President Dibala, an African dictator, and Chase, disagreeing with his morals and policies, manipulated the results of Dibala's blood test. This led to a misdiagnosis and ultimately Dibala's death.
Several episodes later, Cameron discovered Chase's actions and proposed that they both resign from the hospital to escape the situation. Initially agreeing, Chase later changed his mind. Undeterred by Chase's decision not to leave, Cameron embarked on her own journey in episode 8 of House, M.D. season 6.

In season 6, episode 17 of House, M.D., Jennifer Morrison made a return as a way to provide closure to Chase and Cameron's romantic storyline. The two characters engaged in a heated argument, reflecting on their relationship and sharing a final moment together. Despite Chase's fatal act of killing President Dibala marking the beginning of their downfall, Cameron acknowledged that other factors played a role in their breakup. Doubts about her true love for him and unresolved personal issues hindered her ability to fully commit. Consequently, Cameron showed up at the hospital with divorce papers, which Chase willingly signed, signaling the definitive end of their marriage in House, M.D.
