In Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, episode 15, Ryomen Sukuna made a comeback in the anime. After Yuji Itadori was defeated by Choso, he remained unconscious. During this time, Mimiko and Nanako decided to forcefully give Itadori one of Sukuna's fingers, hoping that the King of Curses would take control of Itadori's body.
Pseudo-Geto was unwilling to vacate Suguru Geto's body, leaving Mimiko and Nanako with no alternative but to rely on Ryomen Sukuna to eliminate the person possessing Geto. However, upon receiving the request, Sukuna chose to kill them instead. Surprisingly, he decided to spare Jogo. So, what was the reason behind Sukuna killing the Hasaba twins but sparing the Cursed Spirit?
Jujutsu Kaisen: Why did Sukuna spare Jogo?

Ryomen Sukuna killed Mimiko and Nanako, sparing Jogo due to their different requests and the number of fingers they fed Itadori. Once Yuji Itadori was discovered by Mimiko and Nanako, they forcibly fed him one of Sukuna's fingers. Shortly after, Jogo arrived and forcefully fed Itadori an additional ten fingers.
In contrast to Mimiko and Nanako, the Cursed Spirit understood how Itadori adapted to Sukuna's fingers. If the fingers were given gradually over time, Itadori was able to adjust. However, if multiple fingers were given to him simultaneously, it would take longer for Itadori to regain control over his body. This is why Jogo decided to provide Itadori with ten fingers all at once.

Shortly after, Sukuna awakened and turned his attention to Jogo, Mimiko, and Nanako. Recognizing the sisters' proficiency in showing their reverence towards him, he granted them the privilege to speak first.
Upon being presented with the chance, Nanako expressed her desire to eliminate the individual manipulating Suguru Geto to the King of Curses. As a result, Nanako beseeched Sukuna to dispose of Pseudo-Geto in return for disclosing the whereabouts of another finger.

Despite Sukuna being the one who requested the sisters to speak, he took offense at their request as it appeared to be an order. Additionally, he found the notion of just one or two fingers being insufficient to motivate him to work for them. Consequently, he proceeded to kill both sisters one after the other.
Turning his attention to Jojo, Sukuna inquired about his desires. However, unlike the Hasaba twins, Jogo had no intentions of requesting anything from Sukuna. The goal of the Cursed Spirits was to fully revive Sukuna. Recognizing that the King of Curses had taken control of Itadori's body, Jogo suggested that Sukuna take advantage of the situation by forming a binding vow with Itadori, using the sorcerer's friends as leverage.
In Jujutsu Kaisen, Ryomen Sukuna is depicted as rejecting a supposedly reasonable plan due to his own intentions of achieving a complete resurrection. However, he does acknowledge the desperate efforts made by Jogo and the Cursed Spirits to eliminate humans and rewards Jogo for providing him with ten fingers belonging to Itadori.
Ryomen Sukuna issued a challenge to Jogo, proposing a fight. If Jogo managed to land even a single blow on Sukuna, the King of Curses would consent to working alongside the Cursed Spirits. As an initial offer, Sukuna even suggested eliminating all humans in Shibuya, leaving only one survivor. Intrigued by the prospect of witnessing the era of curses, Jogo was willing to risk his own existence and willingly accepted the proposition.

Hence, it is clear that Jogo’s survival was solely due to his intentions and the number of fingers he offered to Itadori. Nevertheless, although he managed to make it through the latest episode, there is no guarantee of his survival in the next one. Given that he was about to face the formidable King of Curses, the likelihood of his survival in such a grueling encounter was extremely slim.

Ryomen Sukuna's decision to spare Jogo's life in Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, episode 15, while killing Mimiko and Nanako, raises questions about his motives. Sukuna's actions can be interpreted in a few ways.
One possible explanation is that Sukuna saw Jogo as a more formidable opponent and potential ally than Mimiko and Nanako. Jogo is a powerful cursed spirit who has demonstrated his strength and cunning throughout the series. Sukuna may have recognized that Jogo could be a valuable asset in his plans to overthrow the jujutsu sorcerers and reshape the world. In contrast, Mimiko and Nanako are relatively weak and have not shown any significant abilities. Sukuna may have seen them as expendable pawns who were not worth his time or effort.
Another possible explanation is that Sukuna was simply amused by Jogo's audacity and willingness to challenge him. Jogo's proposal to form a binding vow with Sukuna and use Itadori's friends as leverage was a bold and risky move. Sukuna may have been impressed by Jogo's confidence and saw him as a worthy adversary. This interpretation is supported by the fact that Sukuna offered to spare Jogo's life if he could land even a single blow on him.
Whatever the reason, Sukuna's decision to spare Jogo's life has significant implications for the future of the series. Jogo is now a free agent who is no longer bound by the rules of the cursed spirits. He could potentially become a major threat to the jujutsu sorcerers and the world at large. It will be interesting to see how Sukuna's decision to spare Jogo's life plays out in future episodes.
