Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner's divorce is becoming increasingly complicated, with their latest disagreement centering around household items.
According to court documents obtained on Friday, July 14, Baumgartner, 49, asserted that Costner, 68, is worried that she will "take an excessive number of pots and pans." However, Baumgartner dismissed these accusations, assuring that she has no intention of completely emptying the house, and deeming Costner's complaints as insignificant.
Baumgartner claimed that she submitted a written inventory of the belongings she intended to take upon moving out. This inventory includes the couple's silver mirror, dining chairs, silverware, pots, pans, Baumgartner's e-bike, swivel chairs, queen bed, mattress, bedding, rug, nightstand, and kitchen table. In a response filed on Friday, Costner objected, stating that his estranged wife's request for specific items was too ambiguous for him to grant consent for their removal.
The petitioner does not provide specific details for the plates, bowls, and silverware she lists. Similarly, she fails to specify which items she believes were gifted to her from Christine's family heirlooms. In contrast, Baumgartner argues that he will not be negatively affected by her decision to take personal items such as her Peloton bike and family heirlooms. He suggests that Costner is attempting to exert control over the process of her moving out of their family home.
“Regarding my personal belongings, including clothing, jewelry, toiletries, and handbags, Kevin asserts his authority to determine whether I am allowed to remove them from either the house or my storage unit," according to the documents. "For instance, according to Kevin's proposed order, I am prohibited from taking my mother's childhood dresser without engaging in a discussion and gaining his explicit approval."

Despite her claims, a judge ruled in favor of Costner on Thursday, July 13th. The ruling allows Baumgartner to only take her "toiletries, clothing, handbags, and jewelry" from the home. Costner, on the other hand, agreed to the ruling but stated that his estranged wife will be permitted to take additional items from their home once a written agreement is reached. In May, it was confirmed that Baumgartner had filed for divorce from Costner, citing irreconcilable differences and dating their separation back to April 11th. The couple shares three children - Cayden (16), Hayes (14), and Grace (13). Since their split, Costner and Baumgartner have been engaged in a messy and ongoing legal battle concerning finances and child support for their children.
The former model caused a stir in June when she claimed that the Yellowstone actor was trying to evict her from their family home. According to their prenuptial agreement, she was supposed to leave the property one month after their separation if Baumgartner wanted to end their marriage. However, Baumgartner argued that she didn't have the financial means to move out with their children. Nonetheless, a judge ruled that she must vacate the premises by the end of July.
Baumgartner also asked for $248,000 per month in child support from her estranged husband, in order to maintain their current lifestyle and continue raising the kids. In court documents revealed last month, Costner stated that he couldn't afford that amount because his income would decrease significantly in 2023 once Yellowstone concludes. On July 11, a judge decided that Costner will pay Baumgartner $129,755 per month in child support.
