In the anime series Jujutsu Kaisen, Itadori Yuuji is thrust into a world of curses and sorcerers when he becomes the vessel for the King of Curses, Ryomen Sukuna. As a Jujutsu sorcerer, Itadori soon realizes that it's not just the villains who possess dangerous and dark abilities.
As season two of Jujutsu Kaisen is currently airing, viewers have been exposed to a range of dark abilities. Contrary to popular belief, the use of dark techniques extends beyond the realm of evil villains in this anime. Both heroes and villains employ these powerful techniques, leaving fans pondering the question of what the darkest techniques in Jujutsu Kaisen truly are.
7 Idle Death Gamble
Third-year Jujutsu High student, Kinji Hakari, possesses the domain expansion Idle Death Gamble. Within his domain, the balance between life and death is determined by probability, creating uncertainty even for Hakari himself. The immense risk within his domain is counterbalanced by the potential for extraordinary rewards.
When Hakari successfully hits the jackpot, his cursed energy becomes boundless, triggering an automatic execution of a reversed cursed technique. Essentially, he becomes invincible during this time. Though the advantages are tremendous, the notion of life and death being governed by chance is enough to send shivers down anyone's spine.
6 Kokichi Muta’s Heavenly Restriction
In the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, heavenly restrictions are innate limitations placed upon a sorcerer's physical being. These restrictions can have either positive or negative impacts on their cursed energy. In Kokichi's case, his heavenly restriction manifests as extreme frailty.
Despite possessing a substantial amount of cursed energy, Kokichi was born without his right arm and is unable to experience sensation in the lower parts of his leg. His skin is so delicate that even moonlight can cause sunburn, and he constantly feels as though he is being pierced painfully through every pore. For Kokichi, his heavenly restriction is a burdensome ability that he deeply regrets possessing.
5 Kenjaku’s Brain Hopping Cursed Technique
Kenjaku, an ancient sorcerer of over 1000 years, possesses an extraordinary technique that allows him to escape death. By transplanting his brain into the bodies of others, whether deceased or alive, he gains complete control over their beings. Through this mind-transference ability, Kenjaku not only harnesses the skills and memories of his victims but also taps into their cursed energy. Consequently, he becomes indistinguishable from the individuals he inhabits.
Exploiting this malevolent technique, Kenjaku has successfully taken over the identities of notable figures such as Suguru Geto, Kaori Itadori, and Noritoshi Kamo. Utilizing the host's own memories, Kenjaku cunningly carries out deceitful acts, deceiving the entire world in the process.
4 Tengen’s Immortality Technique
In the realm of Jujutsu, Tengen plays a crucial role in fortifying the protective barriers of the Jujutsu High schools. Every 500 years, Tengen must merge with a compatible star plasma vessel to preserve their immortality technique and prevent their body from undergoing further evolution. While this technique grants immortality without reversing aging, Tengen's physical changes brought about by time must be curbed through evolution.
To combat the effects of aging, Tengen merges with a star plasma vessel, ultimately sacrificing them to maintain their immortality. This technique is grim and disturbing, as it necessitates the sacrifice of a life to preserve Tengen's humanity. All star plasma vessels are young women who possess the potential to rejuvenate Tengen's immortality, thereby prematurely ending their own lives.
3 Mahito’s Cursed Technique: Idle Transfiguration
Mahito, an unregistered special-grade cursed spirit, serves as a primary antagonist in the Jujutsu Kaisen anime and manga series. Allying with Jogo, Hanami, and Dagon, his goal is the eradication of humanity. Mahito's cursed technique, Idle Transfiguration, allows him to distort the souls of those he touches, thereby transforming their bodies. Disturbingly, Mahito forces these transfigured humans to fight against Jujutsu Sorcerers, leaving no possibility for reform. Instead, the sorcerers are compelled to battle and ultimately lay the innocent victims to rest.
2 Rika’s Manifestation
Yuta Okkotsu and Rika Orimoto, childhood friends, had made a promise to marry each other as they grew older. Tragically, Rika passed away shortly after their vow, and unknowingly, Yuta placed a curse upon her, resulting in her lingering attachment to him. As a repercussion of this curse, Rika transformed into a special-grade cursed spirit, seeking vengeance against those who harmed Yuta. Due to her presence, many became cautious of Yuta, leading to his enrollment at Tokyo Jujutsu High. It was there that Yuta discovered the true nature of the curse and his role in keeping Rika as a vengeful spirit, unable to find peace in the afterlife, even years after her demise.
1 Sukuna’s Domain Expansion
Ryomen Sukuna, known as the King of Curses, possesses a wide array of techniques and abilities. Among them, his ultimate power lies in his domain expansion called Malevolent Shrine. This sinister shrine, resembling a distorted Buddhist shrine, serves as a sanctuary for a demon. Surrounding the shrine is a menacing dark-colored body of water and scattered skulls on the ground.
The Malevolent Shrine of Sukuna is capable of effortlessly severing and disassembling anything it makes contact with. When living beings come into contact with it, they are ruthlessly cleaved apart, while inanimate objects are meticulously dismantled. Additionally, the only means to escape Sukuna's domain is to inflict severe injuries upon him, rendering him incapable of maintaining its existence.
