Once Ritson's administration crumbles, Ross' extensive experience makes him the ideal candidate to assume the position of United States President, shedding light on one of the greatest enigmas of the MCU's Phase 5. The confirmation of Harrison Ford being cast as President Ross prior to the premiere of Secret Invasion inadvertently spoiled the impending end of President Ritson's tenure.
