My Hero Academia: Setting up Deku's successor - speculation or canon event?
Readers were captivated by the thrilling clash between All Might and the powerful All For One (AFO) in the latest installment, chapter 400, of My Hero Academia. Bringing the chapter to a close, we are left with a poignant scene as an elderly woman and her grandson watch the news report covering this monumental battle.
The young boy observed All Might's battle with a steadfast gaze, clearly in awe of the hero's altruism and unwavering resolve, resembling how Deku once idolized All Might. Although One-For-All is undeniably a formidable quirk, its immense power brings forth considerable risks. It is crucial to acknowledge the potential scenario where the quirk could eventually surpass the capacity for a single individual to bear alone. This underlines the utmost significance of meticulously selecting a worthy successor to inherit and perpetuate its esteemed legacy.
The ideal candidate to succeed OFA could potentially be an individual devoid of any quirk. Given that OFA possesses the extraordinary capability to augment the quirk of any user, it implies that an individual with a weaker or absent quirk could conceivably become tremendously formidable with this power.

The young boy introduced in Chapter 400 of My Hero Academia appears to lack a quirk, much like Deku did at the start. His intense admiration for All Might, which mirrors Deku's own hero worship, strongly suggests that this boy could potentially be the next rightful heir to OFA.
Although this is merely a speculative proposition without any concrete evidence to support it, the idea does present an intriguing possibility worth considering. It would certainly be enthralling to witness the unfolding narrative if Deku were indeed succeeded by another individual.

In My Hero Academia, the Vestiges of OFA pertain to the previous holders of the OFA Quirk, predating Izuku Midoriya. Izuku has the unique capability to perceive and engage with these former users.
Yoichi Shigaraki, the initial possessor of OFA and the sibling of All For One, was an empathetic individual who rebelled against his oppressive brother. He instigated the transference of his quirk to establish OFA.
The identities of the second and third users of the quirk remain enigmatic, celebrated for their exceptional combat skills and intimate bond. Hikage Shinomori, the fourth user, possessed the remarkable Float quirk, enabling him to effortlessly levitate. Daigoro Banjo, esteemed as the fifth user, embodied wisdom and heroism, harnessing the incredible power of Blackwhip to manipulate tendrils crafted from ebony energy.
As the sixth user, En possessed the unique ability to generate smoke clouds, employing the Smokescreen power to great effect. Nana Shimura, Deku's grandmother and the seventh user, was instrumental in training All Might and bestowing upon him the esteemed position of One For All. Lastly, All Might himself emerged as a revered symbol of justice, assuming the dual roles of a heroic figure and Deku's mentor in his capacity as the eighth user.
Deku inherited OFA from All Might, and he is the ninth user and current wielder of the quirk in the My Hero Academia series.
