The Love Story of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend: An Unforgettable Journey

The pair first crossed paths in 2006 while filming Legend's music video for "Stereo." Although they initially went their separate ways, Teigen revealed to Cosmopolitan in June 2014 that they had a memorable encounter that very night.

"I jokingly danced as a fake model with a complete lack of enthusiasm," she recalled of the video. "When I entered John's dressing room to meet him, I found him ironing in his underwear. I couldn't help but ask, 'You do your own ironing!?' He confidently replied, 'Of course I do.' We shared a heartfelt hug."

Throughout the following year, the couple maintained communication, although Legend would often attend red carpets and events with other women. "I allowed him to be himself for a while," the Cravings cookbook author revealed to Cosmopolitan. "The worst thing you can do is try to restrict someone like him early on and let them believe there are countless other options out there. I played it cool for a significant amount of time. At no point did I inquire, 'What are we?' Marriage wasn't my objective because I've never been particularly conventional. I was just content being with him."

"We have a deep love and respect for one another," he stated, emphasizing the strong bond that defines their relationship. "As a couple, we genuinely enjoy each other's company. She has a remarkable ability to make me laugh, and her attentiveness and affectionate nature truly shine. Additionally, she possesses a delightful sense of humor that adds to the joy we share."

Following a heartbreaking pregnancy loss in September 2020, Teigen recently revealed in August 2022 that she is anticipating the arrival of another child. Their daughter, Esti Maxine, was born in January 2023, while their son, Wren Alexander, joined their family through the help of a surrogate just five months later.

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend's Epic Romance: A Complete Timeline

"I was playfully dancing like a fake model, with eyes so lifeless that it's hard to believe they belong to a human," she teased about the video. "I entered John's dressing room to meet him, only to find him ironing in his underwear. I exclaimed, 'You do your own ironing!?' and he confidently replied, 'Of course I do.' Over the following year, the couple stayed in touch, although Legend would often be spotted with other women at red carpet events. "I allowed him to be himself for a while," shared the author of Cravings cookbook in an interview with Cosmopolitan. "The last thing you want to do is to try and tie someone like him down too soon, making them wonder if there's more out there. I played it cool for a long time. Not once did I ask, 'What are we?' The Voice coach and his partner got married in Lake Como, Italy in 2013. They have two children - daughter Luna, born in April 2016, and son Miles, born in May 2018. In an interview on Today in 2018, Legend discussed the success of their marriage with the Lip Sync Battle personality.

"We have a deep love, respect, and admiration for each other," he expressed. "This strong foundation defines our relationship as a couple, and we genuinely enjoy spending time together. [She] never fails to make me laugh, and she exhibits remarkable qualities of attentiveness, love, and a delightful sense of humor throughout it all."

Supporting His Wife

In response to allegations made by Michael Costello, accusing Teigen of sending harmful messages and threatening his career in 2014, Legend presented a different perspective. He revealed, "Chrissy had already apologized for her public tweets, but Mr Costello went on to fabricate a DM exchange between them. Let me be clear, this exchange was entirely made up, it never occurred." The singer's tweet in June 2021 aimed to address the viral claims made by the fashion designer. Legend further expressed his confusion as to why someone would forge DMs in order to involve themselves in an ongoing narrative, stating, "I urge those who hastily spread this falsehood to take responsibility and correct the record." To support his statement, Legend referenced a Business Insider report that cast doubt on Costello's accusations against Teigen. The report suggested that Costello's screenshots may have been manipulated, as claimed by Teigen's team.

Birthday Wishes to Her ‘Forever’

"The everlasting love of my life, happy birthday!" exclaimed the former model in an Instagram video alongside her husband in December 2021. "I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have shared 16(!!) out of your 43 remarkable years, and yet I yearn for more. I have selected a husband with the purest of hearts, an exceptional father, and an incredibly gifted individual. This reflects on my own discernment! Anyway, my affection for you surpasses what any caption could convey. It exceeds the liveliness of a boomerang. I adore you, I adore you."

The “Bigger Love” crooner, for his part, replied, “I love you angel!”

Teigen stunned the crowd at the April 2022 Grammys with her vibrant strapless gown. Meanwhile, Legend turned heads in a luxurious velvet suit as he revealed to E! News that their two children joined them to witness his unforgettable performance at the awards show.
