Dottie's Journey on My 600-lb Life
My 600-lb Life introduced Dottie Perkins Potts in season 4, and it's time to share information about her life after the show. Despite its reputation as a controversial show, My 600-Lb Life remains one of the best reality TV shows, providing entertainment and inspiration. For a long time, she tried to lose weight, and like most of her co-stars, the reason why she gained pounds was childhood trauma. When Dottie first appeared in the series, she weighed over 600 pounds. She had to be hospitalized several times so that her diet could be closely monitored.

During her episode, Dottie had her ups and downs. Eventually, the My 600-lb Life alum could lower her weight and get under 300 pounds. This was a significant achievement for her, seeing as the last time she weighed so little was when she was 18. However, this wasn't an easy feat for Dottie to achieve, as she had just lost her 13-year-old son, who had been diagnosed with cerebral palsy and scoliosis. With the help of Dr. Nowzaradan and her trainer, Kristina, Dottie achieved her goal. Stories like Dottie's keep the show popular, and My 600-Lb Life season 12 should return soon.

Life After the Show
Since her episode, Dottie has stuck to a healthy regimen and is carrying on with the excellent work she started while filming for the show. Although her healthy life journey began while she was on My 600-lb Life, Dottie later decided to sue the show's production company. This made her the sixth reality TV star from the series to file a lawsuit against Megalomedia. According to Looper, she filed suit because she believed that the producers had misinterpreted her weight loss journey.
In addition, her filing included allegations that the My 600-lb Life production company left Dottie with a massive amount of debt. She claimed that the series' higher-ups didn't keep their promise to pay all her medical expenses. These costs were related to her various surgeries, including the ones that she underwent during her My 600-Lb Life: Where Are They Now? appearances. While they helped her jumpstart her weight loss, appearing on reality TV didn't pay off monetarily.
Current Lifestyle
Irrespective of Dottie leaving My 600-lb Life with what seemed to be more negatives than positives, she appears to be living a happy life. However, it is still unclear if she's with her husband, Chris Potts, whom she married in 2014. The last time she saw Dr. Now, she revealed that she planned to leave him. However, she still appears to be with him.
