In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a player encountered a Silver Lynel that was unexpectedly one-shot by a Sage using an Ancient Blade, whom they forgot about.
The video of this event went viral on social media, along with another recent incident where a Lynel was eliminated by a pulse emitter.
Although the Tears of the Kingdom's Ancient Blade can swiftly dispatch enemies, it lacks the ability to yield any loot, which is a disadvantage for those involved in combat.
In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a player's encounter with a Silver Lynel abruptly ended when it was unexpectedly defeated by a Sage that the fan had forgotten about. This rare occurrence was captured on video and quickly spread through social media. Additionally, in Tears of the Kingdom, Lynels continue to pose a significant threat to players, even with the introduction of new mobs. The Armored Silver Lynel, found exclusively in the Depths, adds an extra layer of challenge to the game. Please note that the following content contains mid-game gameplay spoilers for Tears of the Kingdom.
Despite its ability to consume a significant amount of Link's hard-earned resources, Reddit user DDoodles_ recently had a surprisingly brief encounter with a Silver Lynel. Mineru managed to defeat the colossal monster in a matter of seconds by delivering a single blow, immediately destroying its armor. The gameplay footage reveals that Mineru was wielding the Ancient Blade from Tears of the Kingdom. Upon impact, the Silver Lynel disintegrated, showcasing the unique combat effect of the Ancient Blade that sets it apart from other weapons.
Although this weapon can effortlessly dispatch non-boss enemies in the game, it is not a sustainable approach to combat in Tears of the Kingdom. The recently emerged gameplay footage clearly demonstrates that enemies defeated with the Ancient Blade do not drop any loot, which serves as the primary motivation to engage with enemies in Tears of the Kingdom.
DDoodles_ admitted that they didn't intend for Mineru to defeat the Armored Silver Lynel, stating that they simply "forgot about" the Sage. This is evident from the fact that they wasted weapon durability on breaking the beast's armor, when Mineru's Ancient Blade would have been equally effective against a fully armored Lynel.
While Sages can expedite the process of defeating some of the game's toughest enemies, even without sacrificing valuable loot, the most efficient strategies for taking down large monsters don't actually require Link to directly engage in combat. This was recently exemplified by a resourceful player in Tears of the Kingdom, who created a Lynel-farming machine to effortlessly clear one of the game's most treacherous areas.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available on Nintendo Switch.
