The Latest Yakuza Game Embraces Animal Crossing Vibes

Discover a delightful diversion in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth with the captivating Dondoko Island This enchanting side activity draws inspiration from the beloved Animal Crossing, offering players a charming escape into a world of endless possibilities

In Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, players can enjoy the side activity of Dondoko Island, reminiscent of Animal Crossing. This island life-sim offers a peaceful retreat from the chaotic world of the Yakuza series, allowing characters to unwind and recharge.

During the Xbox Partner Preview, the inclusion of Dondoko Island was announced, revealing that it becomes accessible in Chapter 6 of Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Players will accompany Ichiban as he embarks on a journey to this tranquil island, where he can engage in resource gathering, fishing, and decorating. Dondoko Island boasts an impressive level of intricacy, enabling players to not only purchase but also craft a variety of decorations for their own homes and the entire island.

The island decoration seems to be quite extensive. The gameplay demonstrates the ability to customize not only the interior of your home but also the surrounding exterior. You can create pathways and add features like a fountain.

On Dondoko Island, you have the opportunity to expand the town, allowing you to host guests. The gameplay reveals a resort rating and a popularity meter. However, it still retains some of that Yakuza charm as you must protect the resort from unwanted trespassers. Additionally, there are plenty of grand decorations to construct and campfire parties to enjoy, making Dondoko Island a refreshing change from battling criminals in Hawaii.

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth launches on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC on January 24, 2024.
