"Following his elimination from season 2 of the reality series, USA's Tyler Crispen explained why he and costar Alyssa Snider did not continue their showmance beyond the game. The 28-year-old reality star revealed that he needed time for himself after recently ending a long-term relationship. While he will always cherish his relationship with Alyssa, he feels it is important to focus on being Tyler for now."

He continued, expressing his thoughts on the matter: "Although Alyssa is truly amazing, and I'm certain that our bond will endure for a long time, I felt that the timing just wasn't right. Nevertheless, she's fantastic and I will never speak ill of her. I believe she has a kind soul. She's a remarkable individual."

Tyler and Alyssa, both 25 years old, were not secretive about their romantic connection on the CBS reality series. In an episode that aired in August, they engaged in a passionate display of affection at a bar, prompted by Challenge veterans Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio and Wes Bergmann. Despite this public display, Tyler admitted to Us that he did question whether engaging in a showmance was a wise move for his game.

He expressed, "Throughout my entire day, I had doubts, yet I couldn't resist my attraction towards her." He added, "There are moments when you can't resist it and you have to embrace it."

In response, Alyssa revealed her desire to pursue a relationship with Tyler once the season came to a close.

“I consider myself a hopeless romantic, so I just had this idea of getting married, starting a family, and diving into it headfirst. However, Tyler had a more cautious approach and felt that we needed to thoroughly think it through,” she explained. She added that both of them were still in the process of healing from their previous relationships.

Alyssa and Tyler have had experience with public relationships before. Tyler was previously engaged to Angela Rummans, whom he met on Big Brother 20 in 2018, but they ended their engagement in 2022. Likewise, Alyssa was in a relationship with Kyle Capener, whom she met on Big Brother 24 in 2022, but they broke up in January.

Alyssa mentioned that she is not in contact with Kyle currently, while Tyler mentioned that he and Angela have remained on good terms. Tyler expressed that despite their breakup, he believes in maintaining friendships with exes as he values the memories and wants to avoid any negativity. He added that Angela holds a special place in his heart and believes she understands this too. According to Tyler, it is possible for exes to maintain a friendship and make it work.

Tyler and Angela achieved second and fourth place in Big Brother 20, respectively. Numerous fans of the reality show believe that Tyler was unjustly targeted by the jury and would have emerged as the winner if he hadn't betrayed a significant number of his fellow contestants. In an interview with Us, Tyler expressed his desire to adopt a more transparent approach while participating in The Challenge: USA.

"After my experience on Big Brother, despite my impressive performance, it didn't sit well with me to foster strong friendships only to betray them for personal gain," he shared. "It took some time after the show for me to reflect on my actions and realize that although it brought me success in the game, I didn't truly enjoy it."
