Sound of Freedom is streaming now

Sound of Freedom, starring Jim Caviezel as controversial anti-sex trafficking operative Jim Ballard, is streaming on Prime Video now.

The film, directed by Alejandro Monteverde, depicts Caviezel’s Ballard rescuing children from sex traffickers in Colombia, claiming to be based on a true story. There is uncertainty over the authenticity of the film's events, with further details available in our in-depth look into its backstory.

More recently, Ballard has been caught up in a lawsuit alleging sexual manipulation, harassment, and assault during his overseas missions to combat trafficking. As a result, he stepped down from Operation Underground Railroad, the organization he established in 2013, which has also faced criticism and accusations of inflating its achievements abroad.

Despite being a low-budget indie thriller without a major distributor, it became a genuine box office sensation. In the US, it earned over $184 million, surpassing Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Movie. This success is largely attributed to its pay-it-forward program, where Caviezel urged fans to buy tickets for those who couldn't afford them.

However, some viewers reported empty theaters, leading fans to accuse theater chains of undermining the film's success - which is not true.
