Article Key Points
Flashier and more destructive quirks tend to overshadow utility-based quirks, leading to the neglect of some of the most useful quirks in My Hero Academia.
Recovery Girl and Present Mic possess Pro Hero quirks that are often overlooked and underrated due to their non-aggressive abilities or their roles as teachers. However, Foresight, the quirk of Sir Nighteye, is the most underrated of all Pro Hero quirks. With the ability to predict a person's future accurately for up to an hour, it has been neglected and eventually phased out in the series due to its subtle nature and vulnerabilities.
With a myriad of quirks present in My Hero Academia's Hero scene, it is natural for more eye-catching powers to receive the most attention. Unfortunately, this has resulted in certain quirks being neglected and forgotten, even though they are incredibly useful. This disparity is especially evident among the students of U.A. High's Classes 1-A and 1-B, but even Pro Heroes have experienced being overlooked.
Due to the dominance of overpowering and destructive quirks in the Hero rankings, abilities that are more focused on utility tend to be disregarded by the general public. The Hero rankings prioritize individuals with powers that are capable of putting on a spectacle, such as All Might's inhuman strength or Endeavor's infernal flames. As a result, numerous powerful quirks are pushed to the sidelines and labeled as highly underrated. While there are many contenders for this title, one Pro Hero's quirk stands out due to its innovative abilities and undeniable worth.
Honorable Mentions
In the expansive Hero world, identifying the most underrated Pro Hero quirk is no small feat, considering the multitude of abilities at play. While there is one quirk that certainly shines, it is accompanied by a handful of other deserving but underappreciated Pro Hero quirks. Often underestimated due to their subtle and unassuming nature, these quirks may seem weak and insignificant, yet their potential in battle knows no bounds.
Among these underrated Pro Hero quirks is Heal, a remarkable healing power possessed by none other than U.A. High’s Recovery Girl. With the ability to mend all kinds of wounds and injuries, Recovery Girl holds the power to tip the scales in the midst of a battle with her limitless healing abilities. Sadly, her non-aggressive powers often relegate her to the sidelines, ignored and overlooked by viewers.
The Most Underrated Pro Hero Quirk
The quirk of Present Mic, a Pro Hero, is Voice, which enables him to emit supersonic screams. While his power is versatile and useful in battles, Present Mic is often overlooked due to his role as a teacher at U.A. High. Nonetheless, his quirk harbors immense potential, making it a Pro Hero ability that is greatly underrated.
Though overlooked by many, Foresight, Sir Nighteye's quirk, truly holds the title as the most underrated Pro Hero power. Its intricate nature and unexplained aspects often overshadow its true worth in combat.
Foresight grants the user the ability to predict a person's future for up to an hour by touching them and making eye contact. During this time, Nighteye can see the target's future from a third-person perspective. While the duration is limited to an hour, Sir Nighteye has demonstrated the capability to see several years into the future.
The predictions made by Foresight are always accurate, meaning that any events witnessed will eventually occur. However, the quirk does not specify when these events will occur, requiring Nighteye to make approximate estimations. Foresight's predictions have only been proven false once, when Eri's Rewind quirk interfered with it during a prediction for Izuku Midoriya. This suggests that, without external interference, Foresight's predictions are infallible.
Why Is Foresight Underrated?
Foresight's neglect primarily stems from its subtle and non-offensive nature. Unlike flashy abilities that draw attention, Foresight operates discreetly, supporting allies on the front lines. Additionally, Sir Nighteye intentionally kept the true workings of Foresight secret to prevent villains from exploiting its advantage. As a consequence, viewers only became familiar with Foresight's abilities later in the series.
Although Foresight provides undeniable value, it is burdened with numerous weaknesses that may reduce its popularity among the public. The lack of time accuracy and the demanding requirement of maintaining constant eye contact make it an incredibly challenging quirk to utilize. Moreover, as the predictions are solely visual and lack sound, Foresight has earned a reputation for being a quirk with significant weaknesses, which contradicts its actual strengths.
Sir Nighteye's unexpected death marked the decline of Foresight's presence in My Hero Academia, causing this powerful quirk to fade into obscurity. Despite its numerous benefits and ability to make accurate predictions, Foresight has sadly been pushed to the sidelines, and its true potential is often overlooked and forgotten. Among the many underappreciated Pro Hero quirks, Foresight currently holds the title due to its intricate nature and often unnoticed support capabilities.

As a Gen Z fan, I have a few thoughts on the article.
First, I agree that Foresight is an underrated quirk. It may not be as flashy as some of the other quirks in the series, but it is incredibly useful. The ability to predict the future, even for a short period of time, can be a game-changer in battle.
Second, I think it's important to appreciate the different types of quirks in the series. Not all quirks have to be flashy and destructive to be useful. Quirks like Recovery Girl's Heal and Present Mic's Voice are just as important as the more powerful quirks. They each have their own unique strengths and weaknesses, and they can all be used to help people.
Overall, I think the article does a good job of highlighting some of the underrated quirks in My Hero Academia. I would love to see more articles like this in the future.
