Issa Rae is eagerly anticipating the end of the Barbie press tour as it means she can finally bid farewell to the wearisome pink attire.
During the film's London premiere on Wednesday, July 12, the 38-year-old actress openly admitted her distaste for the rosy hue. On the red carpet, she told TV personality Amelia Dimoldenberg, "I genuinely despise pink. It's just not my thing."
"I understand. I don't want the recordings to end up in the film," Rae continued. "However, I'm in a joyful mood for this movie and once it's completed, I plan to dispose of it all... It's just that, you know, I appreciate it for Barbie. It brings me great happiness for Barbie, but personally, I prefer something more edgy."
During the event, Rae adhered to the theme by wearing a strapless fuchsia dress with a high slit and a prominent waist detail. She complemented the dress with a glamorous necklace and sparkling sandal heels.

Later that same Wednesday, Rae incorporated additional hues into her wardrobe. Collaborating with stylist Wouri Vice, she confidently sported a vibrant pink and green feathered ensemble designed by PatBo for an exclusive Barbie gathering held in the United Kingdom.

For the Los Angeles premiere on Sunday, July 9, ameliadimz opted for a stunning head-to-toe pink ensemble. Draped in a luxurious velvet gown designed exclusively by Marc Bouwer, Rae captivated onlookers. The floor-length dress boasted a tasteful cut-out at the bodice, complemented by a charming bow just below the neckline.
Barbie stars Margot Robbie as the titular doll and Ryan Gosling as Ken, with Rae portraying President Barbie.

Rae expressed her excitement about being cast in the film during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, stating that being asked by director Greta Gerwig to join her upcoming project was an incredible opportunity. She felt honored to be included in the discussion. After reading the script, Rae was filled with happiness. In a playful manner, she compared the experience of entering Barbie Land for the first time to the exhilarating effect of a shot of dopamine.
She exclaimed, "The experience was euphoric! It filled me with nostalgia. It was evident that everyone involved had a wonderful time creating Barbie and Greta, and they were given the freedom to truly shine. Although it required effort, it felt more like play."
In addition to the aforementioned cast members, Barbie, set to be released on Friday, July 21, features notable actors such as Kate McKinnon, Dua Lipa, Michael Cera, Will Ferrell, Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Emma Mackey, Hari Nef, and many others.
