The reboot series brings back beloved characters from The Full Monty and introduces intriguing new ones. Upon its release in 1997, The Full Monty became an unexpected success. It received four Academy Award nominations, grossed over $247 million (according to Box Office Mojo), and was highly praised by critics, boasting a nearly perfect 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The Full Monty stood out for its clever and risqué premise of a group of men staging a striptease to shed light on important societal issues such as unemployment, divorce, sexual identity, and mental health.

It was ranked as the 25th film on the BFI's list of the top 100 British films of all time (via the BBC). Therefore, it was logical to revisit these beloved characters and present a fresh narrative. The sequel series was released on FX, Hulu, and Disney+, picking up the story 25 years later. Several cast members from the original film reprise their roles in The Full Monty reboot series. It was intended for Hugo Speer to reprise his role as Guy (via The Star); however, he was reportedly dismissed from the show due to "inappropriate behavior." Moreover, there are some exciting new additions to The Full Monty reboot cast, such as Talitha Wing portraying Gaz's estranged daughter, Destiny.

Robert Carlyle As Gary "Gaz" Schofield

In The Full Monty reboot cast, Robert Carlyle portrays Gaz, a character who has experienced a second divorce and is living in distressing conditions. Throughout the series, Gaz constantly devises ambitious plans and struggles to maintain a healthy relationship with his daughter Des. Mark Addy's portrayal of Dave in The Full Monty reboot showcases his character as Gaz's loyal and devoted best friend. Working as a school caretaker, Dave faces turmoil in his marriage to Jean as she engages in an affair with her boss, Dilip. However, their relationship takes a turn for the better as they find solace and reconciliation in the tragic loss of their son, Michael. Tom Wilkinson is joining the cast of The Full Monty reboot in the role of Gerald. Gerald, now a retired individual, finds himself consistently drawn into Gaz's various schemes. Wilkinson's exceptional performance in the film led him to win the prestigious BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. Additionally, he has received two Academy Award nominations, one for Best Actor for his portrayal of Matt Fowler in In the Bedroom, and another for Best Supporting Actor for his remarkable portrayal of Arthur Edens in Michael Clayton. Steve Huison As Lomper

Steve Huison portrays the character Lomper in the cast of The Full Monty reboot. Currently, he is married to Dennis and jointly operates a café with a name that presents certain challenges. Paul Barber has recently joined the cast of The Full Monty reboot, taking on the role of Horse. In this revamped series, Horse becomes a tragic casualty of the system, battling tirelessly to secure his entitled benefits, only to be mistakenly labeled as fit for work. Unfortunately, he loses his job and eventually meets a sorrowful demise, alone and penniless at a bus stop, unable to afford sustenance. The rest of the group, however, makes an earnest attempt to bid him a proper farewell. Paul Barber is widely recognized for his portrayal of Denzil Tulser in the beloved British sitcom Only Fools and Horses. Additionally, he has showcased his talent as Greg Salter in Brookside, Captain Jack Parrot in Death in Paradise, and Ernest Maxwell in two episodes of the widely acclaimed series Casualty.

Lesley Sharp portrays the character of Jean, Dave's wife, in The Full Monty reboot. Throughout the series, their marriage is depicted as a troubled one, leading Jean to seek solace in the arms of her boss, Dilip. However, they eventually reconcile, and Jean moves back in with Dave.

Lesley Sharp is widely recognized for her TV roles, such as DC Janet Scott in Scott & Bailey, Alison Mundy in Afterlife, and Rose Cooper in Bob & Rose. In addition, she has also made notable appearances on the big screen, playing characters like Michelle in Rita, Sue, and Bob Too, Kate Eddowes in the Jack the Ripper tale From Hell, and Jessie Barnes in Vera Drake. Before collaborating with her future Full Monty co-stars Carlyle and Wilkinson, she appeared as Mrs. Unsworth in the film Priest.

Talitha Wing takes on the role of Destiny "Des" Schofield in the cast of The Full Monty reboot. Des is the rebellious teenage daughter of Gaz and their relationship is filled with conflict. However, Gaz's ultimate intention is to look out for her well-being. He tries to steer her away from a life of petty crime by encouraging her aspirations and accompanying her to a music school audition.

Wing's previous roles include Flick in six episodes of Wolfe, Sasha in four episodes of Alex Rider, and Diane in season 1, episode 5 of The Feed. Additionally, she appeared as a P.A. in Military Wives, a film directed by Peter Cattaneo, the director of The Full Monty.

Wim Snape As Nathan Schofield

Wim Snape has joined the cast of The Full Monty reboot as Nathan, who is Gaz's son. As a police officer and now a father himself, Nathan is resentful of his father's outrageous behavior. Nonetheless, he takes advantage of his position to keep a watchful eye on Gaz and his half-sister Des. In the original movie, Nathan's role was not significant, and Snape was just 12 years old when he portrayed the character. Typically, a reunion show or film would replace a child actor with a more recognizable face, but Snape has actually established an impressive acting résumé. He is widely recognized for his portrayal in the series, The Beaker Girls.

Paul Clayton As Dennis

Joining the cast of The Full Monty reboot is Paul Clayton, taking on the role of Dennis, a brand-new character created exclusively for the series. The Full Monty New Characters & Returning Crew Members

Miles Jupp portrays Darren in the reboot of "The Full Monty." Darren is a bureaucrat and a close friend of the Monty clan. He extends help to Horse and eventually develops romantic feelings for Silvan after offering shelter to the Kurdistani refugee and her son in his own house. Prior to this role, Jupp has had minor parts in movies such as "Sherlock Holmes," "The Legend of Tarzan," and "The Brothers Grimsby."

Sophie Stanton takes on the role of Hetty Baxter, a music teacher at the school where Dave works. Hetty is Jean's best friend who ultimately betrays her. Stanton, known for her supporting roles in films like "Cheerful Weather for the Wedding," "Wallander," and "Ashes to Ashes," brings Hetty to life on screen.

Lewis Whele has joined the cast of The Full Monty reboot as Ben Schofield, Nathan's son and Gaz's grandson, as well as Des' nephew. Throughout the series, Nathan makes an effort to dissuade Ben from following Gaz's negative example. This marks Whele's first acting credit.

Dominic Sharkey portrays Cal in The Full Monty reboot cast, Des' timid companion who frequently takes part in her minor criminal activities. Sharkey makes his debut on the small screen with The Full Monty, boasting no previous credits.

William Fox takes on the role of Brian in the reboot of The Full Monty. Brian is Yaz's detestable boyfriend who ultimately drives Des out of the house. Fortunately, Yaz breaks up with him in the end. Actor William Fox can also be seen in Pennyworth, The Selfish Giant, and Jamie Johnson.

Halima Ilter portrays Silvan, a Kurdish refugee who seeks shelter in Darren's home along with her son after being displaced from her own. Initially cautious of Darren's advances, she gradually warms up to him. Known for her notable roles in the Turkish television and film industry, Ilter has garnered recognition through her performances in Zagros, Sinjar, and Jiyan.

Emily Bevan takes on the role of Yvonne in The Full Monty reboot cast. Yvonne is Guy's eccentric pregnant fiance who inadvertently becomes involved in Horse's misguided rebellion. Bevan's acting credits include appearances in The Casual Vacancy, In the Flesh, and Doc Martin.

Susan Hilton plays Margaret Baxter, Hetty's ailing mother in The Full Monty reboot. She becomes lost in the woods while searching for Jean, but luckily, Gaz finds her and convinces her to return home. Hilton has had various smaller roles throughout her impressive career, including appearances in Coronation Street, Documentary Now!, and Brassic.

Ben Crompton portrays Miller in The Full Monty reboot. Miller is a cynical man who takes advantage of Horse's situation to instigate a rebellion and hold people hostage with a box cutter. In his episode, the group performs a revival strip tease before he is apprehended by the S.W.A.T. team. Crompton is best recognized for his portrayal of Jon Snow's loyal friend, Eddison Tollett, in Game of Thrones, as well as his role as Shanker in Strike.

Aiden Cook stars as Twiglet, a young schoolboy who becomes friends with Dave after Dave rescues him from bullying and he is taken away from his mother by social services. Aiden Cook is a rising talent, acclaimed for his role as Young Billy Dalby in the TV series All Creatures Great and Small.

Phillip Rhys Chaudary portrays Dilip Amagee, the deputy headteacher and Jean's secret lover. In addition to his role in the Full Monty reboot, Chaudary has appeared in several notable projects, such as Nip/Tuck where he played Jude Sawyer and 24 where he portrayed Reza Naiyeer. He has also made guest appearances in Doctor Who and Shameless.

Tupele Dorgu portrays Destiny's mother, Yaz, in the reboot cast of The Full Monty. She grapples with a troublesome boyfriend named Brian, whom she eventually ends her relationship with. Additionally, Dorgu is known for her roles as Nicole Jones in The Case and Julie in Billionaire Boy.

Arnold Oceng has also been included in the cast of The Full Monty reboot as Ant, a skillful graffiti artist who develops a strong bond with Dave and Gary. Oceng has notably appeared as Charles in A United Kingdom, Henry Okocha in Brotherhood, and Mamere in The Good Lie.

Jaxon Valentine takes on the role of Sash in The Full Monty reboot cast. Sash is a student at the school where Dave works and is also a member of the "revenge choir" that targets Jean. Despite having only appeared in three episodes of The Full Monty, this is Jaxon Valentine's first acting credit.

Jamie Michie is added to the cast of The Full Monty reboot as Little Bill. Although Jamie Michie's acting career mainly consists of supporting roles, they are in renowned movies and TV series like In the Heart of the Sea and Game of Thrones.

Keeley Fitzgerald portrays the role of Casey, a student, in the cast of The Full Monty reboot. Although she may not be widely recognized, Fitzgerald has consistently been cast in recurring roles on popular British soap operas such as Coronation Street and Emmerdale.

Natalie Davis takes on the character of Tabani, a lively friend of Des, and the two engage in a brief romance in The Full Monty reboot. Davis has made multiple appearances on British television, including her portrayals of Shelley in seven episodes of Coronation Street and Ashley in five episodes of Hullraisers.

Brandy Row has been cast as Mick in the reboot of The Full Monty. Despite having only acted in a few amateur short films, Row stands out with his striking appearance, adorned with face tattoos.

Thomas O'Toole will portray Carson, a student at the school where Dave works in The Full Monty reboot. Interestingly, O'Toole has been more successful than many other actors who only appeared in one episode, having been featured in 20 episodes of Class Dismissed and even hosting 17 episodes of SKY News for Kids.

Amer Nazir, known for his role as Twiggy in Happy Valley, will be portraying Sajid Khan in The Full Monty reboot cast.

Renowned writer Simon Beaufoy, who penned the original screenplay for The Full Monty, has returned to work on the sequel series. His script for the film earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay. Beaufoy went on to win an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for his work on Slumdog Millionaire. He has also contributed to the screenplays of 127 Hours, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Battle of the Sexes, Salmon Fishing in the Yemen, and Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day. Prior to his involvement in the TV series, Beaufoy adapted The Full Monty for the stage, which premiered at the Lyceum Theatre in Sheffield before transferring to the West End.

Producer Uberto Pasolini is returning to helm The Full Monty TV series. Pasolini boasts accolades such as a BAFTA Film Award for Best Film and an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture for producing The Full Monty. In addition, he has produced acclaimed films like Palookaville, The Emperor's New Clothes, and Bel Ami, featuring renowned actors such as Robert Pattinson, Uma Thurman, and Christina Ricci. Pasolini has also showcased his directorial skills with his debut film Machan in 2008, followed by Still Life in 2013.

Joining forces with writer Simon Beaufoy on The Full Monty series is the talented Alice Nutter. Nutter has previously collaborated with Beaufoy on the FX series Trust, which delves into the captivating story of the kidnapping of John Paul Getty III. She has also worked on the unproduced series Undercovers and has written episodes for various TV shows including The Street, Casualty, Moving On, Accused, and The Mill. Alongside her writing endeavors, Nutter is recognized for her musical contributions as a member of the anarcho-punk band Chumbawamba.
