The official website of the popular television anime series, The Fire Hunter, announced on December 4, 2023, that Season 2 is confirmed to premiere in January 2024. The new season will be a continuation of the Winter 2023 season and will continue to adapt the original fantasy novel series by Rieko Hinata and Akihiro Yamada. Crunchyroll will continue to stream the anime with English subtitles internationally, while it airs domestically on WOWOW.

The original run of the novel series spanned from December 2018 to September 2020, resulting in four volumes. A supplementary side-story volume was published on December 21, 2021, after the series concluded.

The highly anticipated second season of The Fire Hunter is set to make its debut on Japanese broadcast television on Sunday, January 14, 2024. Fans were thrilled by the official confirmation, which came in the form of a promotional video for the new season, available in both 30-second and 90-second versions.

Just like the first season, the second season of the anime series will premiere on the premium subscription television channel WOWOW in Japan. It is expected, but not officially confirmed at the time of writing this article, that Crunchyroll will also stream the second series internationally as it did for the first season in 2023.

New cast members for the second season include Manaka Iwami as Yururuho/Sennen Suisei and M.A.O as Ruri Matsuri. The remaining 16 main cast members from the first season are set to reprise their roles, including starring cast members Misaki Kuno as Toko, Shoya Ishige as Koshi, Maaya Sakamoto as Akira, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Roroku, Saori Hayami as Kira, and Megumi Yamaguchi as Hinako.

The initial season of the TV anime series was helmed by Junji Nishimura at the Signal.MD studios, while Mamoru Oshii supervised and wrote the series scripts. Takuya Saito undertook the responsibility of character design and was credited as the chief animation director.

Saito was joined by Kazuchika Kise and Toshihisa Kaiya in the latter role. The music composition for the series was handled by Kenji Kawai, with Kazuhiro Wakabayashi serving as the anime’s sound director.
