The transition of Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt taking over hosting duties for Becca Kufrin and Michelle Young on the "Bachelor Happy Hour" podcast caused a stir in Bachelor Nation. Joe, 37, revealed that he had informed Becca about the opportunity and she responded positively. He also mentioned that Thomas, Becca's fiancé, shared his thoughts about the change on social media.
Becca, 33, and Michelle, 30, who had been cohosting "Happy Hour" since 2020, have been removed from their positions as cohosts. Becca, who is currently pregnant with her first child with Thomas, made it clear through Instagram Stories that they would not be watching Charity Lawson's season 20 of The Bachelorette. In response to a fan's comment expressing a desire for Becca and Michelle to have said goodbye, considering Becca's long tenure on the podcast, Thomas replied, "Yeah, we would've liked that too."

Weeks after the social media controversy, Joe informed Us that Thomas had actually reached out to them. They are currently on good terms with him and have no issues.
Serena expressed how it was a pleasure working with Becca on "Happy Hour" for a season. She complimented Becca's hosting skills and the positive impact she made on the show. Professionally, Serena is excited to see what Becca does next. Personally, their relationship is strong, as they have communicated through text messages. Additionally, Michelle also congratulated them and showed support by reaching out personally and commenting on the "Happy Hour" post. Overall, their relationships with Becca and Michelle are positive, and they acknowledge the pressure of filling their shoes.
Joe and Serena, who met on Bachelor in Paradise season 7, got married at a New York City courthouse in 2022. They will have a second wedding ceremony in Charleston in September. Currently, their focus is on recapping Charity's journey.
"We genuinely enjoy working and podcasting together. It's a lot of fun for us. I can't say for sure if we were the 'best' choice, but we were definitely a choice and we feel fortunate to have been given this opportunity," Joe shared. He also confirmed that he is no longer working on the "Click Bait" podcast. When asked why they were chosen for the "Happy Hour" podcast, Joe expressed, "There are other couples and individuals within the franchise who could also host a podcast. So we consider ourselves lucky and grateful."
He continued, "We discussed the idea of starting our own podcast, I'd say about a year ago. We deliberated on whether it was wise to blend work with our relationship. However, upon careful consideration, we realized that shooting a podcast only takes a few hours per week. If we can't manage that, then perhaps we should address larger concerns."
