In the Naruto franchise, Sasuke Uchiha holds a significant position alongside Naruto Uzumaki himself. The author acknowledges their interconnected progress throughout the original series, making Sasuke a crucial part of the overarching plot.
However, in Boruto, a different narrative unfolds where Naruto and Sasuke are not the main protagonists. Nevertheless, fans continue to cherish and adore these characters deeply. It is worth noting that despite being considered among the strongest in the Boruto world, recent unfortunate events have considerably weakened them. Currently, in the time skip of Boruto, Naruto remains trapped in the Daikokuten dimension, while Sasuke finds himself alongside Boruto Uzumaki. Fans can expect to witness a distinct version of Sasuke after the four-year gap.
Sasuke And Boruto's Escape
In the first part of Boruto, Sasuke Uchiha played a significant role, alongside Boruto and Kawaki. When Kawaki embraced the path of eliminating all Otsutsuki, he took action by sealing both Naruto and Hinata. His next target became Boruto Uzumaki. Their intense battle took place atop the Hokage statues, resulting in Boruto losing his eye while defending Sarada. As the situation grew more dangerous, the Konoha shinobi intervened. With no way to escape, Kawaki was on the verge of being apprehended until Momoshiki unexpectedly provided him with an opportunity to flee.
Seizing this chance, Kawaki departed to gain strength, vowing to return and annihilate both Boruto Uzumaki and all other Otsutsuki Clan members. However, accomplishing this proved to be more challenging than he expected. Konoha possessed numerous highly skilled individuals who could easily track and capture him. The Konoha shinobi were particularly furious upon learning that Kawaki had potentially killed Naruto Uzumaki. In his desperate search for an escape, Ada came forward to assist him. Utilizing her Omnipotence abilities, she fulfilled Kawaki's wish. As a result, Boruto and Kawaki switched lives, with Boruto now falsely accused as the killer of the 7th Hokage while Kawaki was viewed as Naruto Uzumaki's true-born son and a loyal shinobi of Konoha.
To the astonishment of his fans, the entire village suddenly turned against Boruto Uzumaki. It was at this pivotal moment that Momoshiki intervened, reminding Boruto that the fateful day he had foreseen, where he would lose everything, had finally arrived. Contrary to popular belief, it was not Boruto's loved ones who perished as initially anticipated in the prophecy; rather, it was Boruto himself who was left utterly bereft, becoming a ninja without a sense of belonging.
From being adored in the village to becoming a stranger and the murderer of the Seventh Hokage, his fate took a drastic turn. Unfortunately, Boruto's situation only worsened as he was no longer able to stay in the village. However, there was a glimmer of hope in the form of Sasuke Uchiha. Strangely, Sarada and Sumire were unaffected by the powers of Omnipotence. Through Sarada, Sasuke discovered that Boruto Uzumaki and Kawaki had swapped lives. When Boruto found himself in a desperate situation, it was Sasuke who decided to rescue him. Together, they traveled to a location situated some distance away from the village.
Soon, they encountered Ada, who unveiled the truth of the matter. Ada harbored no hatred towards Boruto and she hadn't intentionally orchestrated the switch. Nevertheless, she felt obligated to disclose the truth. Presently, Sasuke and Boruto embark on a four-year journey filled with transformative experiences. The first chapter of Boruto, set in a ravaged version of the village, showcases the significant changes they undergo. Finally, Boruto's timeskip has arrived, promising monumental events for both him and Sasuke.
Sasuke After The Timeskip
After Naruto Uzumaki was sealed away, the majority of fans expected Sasuke to become the Hokage of the village. However, things took a surprising turn when Sasuke decided to leave with Boruto. Now, their goal is clear - both Boruto and Sasuke must become as strong as possible. Without Naruto's presence, Sasuke, as a prominent figure in the Shinobi world, carries the hope of the world on his shoulders. Despite his incredible skills as a ninja, he realizes that his current abilities aren't enough to defeat his enemies - the Otsutsuki Clan, Kawaki, and Kara.
To achieve the necessary power, Sasuke must further enhance his abilities. With the loss of his Rinnegan, he is in search of alternate methods to grow stronger. Luckily, they have four years of training ahead of them. Sasuke will continue to train both himself and Boruto, utilizing his remaining Mangekyo Sharingan to reach new heights. He possesses knowledge and mastery over all five Nature Transformations and has additional abilities akin to pseudo-Kekkei Genkai. Despite his extensive arsenal, it is still not potent enough, and thus Sasuke needs to level up his skills.
Sasuke's New Powers
When it comes to Sasuke's new abilities, there are limited gains he can achieve. One option for him is to seek assistance from Orochimaru who has made significant progress. Orochimaru's expertise in snake-related powers can greatly enhance Sasuke's power and he can quickly master these abilities. However, besides this possibility, there are other opportunities for Sasuke to further develop.
One major avenue for Sasuke's growth is to acquire the mystical weapons once possessed by his brother, Itachi Uchiha. Itachi wielded the Totsuka Blade and the Yata Mirror, which made his Susanoo indestructible. If Sasuke can obtain these weapons, his strength will undoubtedly skyrocket. Moreover, it will enable him to easily defeat formidable enemies of the Otsutsuki clan.
Using the Totsuka Blade's piercing abilities or combining it with the Kusanagi Blade, Sasuke can effortlessly defeat and seal away his opponents. The Yata Mirror grants him the power to deflect any formidable attack, whether it is ninjutsu or shinjutsu. Undoubtedly, these upgrades will significantly enhance Sasuke's abilities. Additionally, fans can expect Sasuke's physical strength to surpass all previous levels as he undergoes four years of training alongside Boruto. While it is uncertain which specific power-ups Sasuke will receive after the Boruto timeskip, snake-related abilities such as the Snake Sage Mode or the supernatural weapons once possessed by his brother are the most probable options. Only Kishimoto knows the direction in which the Uchiha hero's story will unfold, but it is evident that his legend is far from reaching its conclusion.
