Attention fellow blood siblings! It all began with the release of Twilight in 2008, captivating fans with the enigmatic Cullen coven. Following in its wake, Twihards continue to be awestruck by the vampires' ethereal complexion, extraordinary powers, and the mesmerizing sparkle of Edward Cullen (played by Robert Pattinson) under the sunlight.
Drawing inspiration from Stephenie Meyer's immensely popular novels, the film series spanned an impressive five-year journey. Comprising of Twilight, The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009), The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010), The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (2011), and Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (2012), these cinematic adaptations have kept fans enthralled.
Moviegoers were introduced to the Cullen clan in the initial film. However, in Breaking Dawn - Part 1, Bella Swan, a human portrayed by Kristen Stewart, became a member of the family by marrying Edward. Later on, they happily welcomed their daughter, Renesmee Cullen, portrayed by Mackenzie Foy.
The original members of the family included Carlisle Cullen, played by Peter Facinelli, and his wife, Esme, portrayed by Elizabeth Reaser. Their vampire offspring, who were known as their children in the human world, consisted of Alice, played by Ashley Greene, Emmett, portrayed by Kellan Lutz, and Edward.
Ten years after Twilight catapulted the cast to superstardom, Reaser expressed her exclusive satisfaction about the enduring excitement from people today.
The Michigan native expressed her disbelief that it had already been 10 years, mentioning that it felt like just yesterday. Despite this, she expressed excitement about the milestone. Reaser also shared that some of her most cherished memories from filming the franchise were simply spending time with her fellow cast members on set.
Over time, several members of the on-screen family have come together and maintained regular communication.
Reaser recently shared with Us that she had a chance encounter with Peter during a dinner, finding it amusing. She likened their meeting to reuniting with a close relative, emphasizing the strong bond they share. Despite the busy schedules and frequent travels, Reaser expressed her deep affection for her Twilight co-stars.
In a subsequent interview with Us, Rathbone revealed that he continues to be recognized for his role in the Twilight films, even after more than ten years since the first movie's release. Looking ahead, the actor expressed his desire to see prequels to the vampire-driven franchise in the future.
In October 2018, he expressed his belief that rebooting the franchise would be enjoyable and mentioned his desire to see an origin story for Jasper and Alice. Rathbone also commented on the potential for expanding the Twilight universe, stating that there is more to explore, as hinted in Breaking Dawn.
