Eminence In Shadow: Season One Recap

In the first season of the show, Cid Kagenou begins as a young boy with a strong desire to become the Eminence in Shadow. To fully embody this character, Cid lives his life as a "background character," avoiding attention at all costs. However, after struggling to face a former military official, Cid becomes desperate for more power and tragically loses his life in a collision with a truck. Fortunately, Cid is given a second chance when he is reincarnated into a new world where he can better pursue his dream of becoming the Eminence in Shadow. Equipped with memories from his past life, along with magical and sword-fighting abilities, nothing will stand in Cid's way.

In this new world, Cid encounters a young captive girl and reveals to her his imaginative creation known as the Cult of Diablos. This ancient and secretive cult aims to manipulate global affairs from the shadows, according to Cid's vision. However, as Cid battles individuals wielding demonic powers in their pursuit of immortality, he begins to realize that the Cult of Diablos may not be purely imaginary, despite his own unawareness of their existence. Interestingly, the girl Cid saved in the past, named Alpha, becomes the founder of Shadow Garden, a group dedicated to eradicating the Cult of Diablos. Assuming the role of leader in Shadow Garden under his shadow persona, Cid embarks on a mission to cleanse the world.

Set in the crime-ridden Lawless City, season two of the anime series follows Cid and his sister Claire, who are celebrating her "victory" in the Bushin Festival. However, they are soon forced to join an expedition to Lawless City, led by the Magic Swordsmen Association, in order to defeat the powerful Blood Queen. Hoping to make some money and take part in the legendary Red Moon event, Cid decides to join the expedition. But as someone who always finds himself in trouble, Cid quickly crosses paths with the Blood Queen, as well as the rulers of Lawless City—Crimson the Vampire, Juggernaut the Tyrant, and Yukime the Spirit Fox.

The Second Season Of The Series And Its Release Date

The cast and staff from the first season of the anime series will be returning for season two. Studio Nexus, who produced the first season, will also produce the second season, with Kazuya Nakanishi serving as the chief animation director.

In addition to the returning members, some new cast members will join the team as notable antagonistic characters are introduced.
