HIDIVE, the leading streaming platform that offers global access to The Eminence in Shadow, describes the anime in the following way:
Rather than embodying the flamboyant, bold hero or the overtly sinister, clichéd villain, certain individuals prefer to operate discreetly in the shadows, manipulating society through their intellect and cunning. This is precisely the role that Cid aspires to assume when he finds himself transported to a different world.
Continuation:
Cid weaves several tales, eventually assuming an unexpected role as the leader of the subterranean group known as the Shadow Garden. This organization embarks on a valiant battle against a malevolent cult, which Cid merely fabricated out of thin air. Nevertheless, there is an unforeseen twist that even his vivid imagination failed to anticipate: the cult he conjured is real, and they are greatly angered by the intrusion of his power fantasy into their wicked schemes!
Oxt will be providing the opening theme song, Greyscale Dominator, while the ending theme song is yet to be revealed.
