The Dreaming Boy is a Realist depicts a unique "two-way unrequited love story" between Sajou Wataru and Aika Natsuka, two high school students. Upon realizing that constantly pestering and following Aika isn't appreciated, Sajou distances himself from her, acknowledging his unworthiness.
However, to her surprise, Aika finds herself increasingly drawn to Sajou, gradually recognizing his significant role in her life. The Dreaming Boy is a Realist by Okemaru originally debuted as a web novel in December 2018. It was later acquired by Hobby Japan and released as a light novel series under their HJ Bunko imprint.
