Summary

The Good Omens timeline is dense and absurd, spanning from the creation of the universe to the scheduled end of the world.

Crowley and Aziraphale share an unconventional bond focused on their shared goal of saving the world, often defying rules in order to prevent Armageddon. Season 2 of Good Omens adopts a deliberate pace, interweaving past moments from Crowley and Aziraphale's journey and delving into their blossoming affection for one another.

Making sense of the timeline in Good Omens is no easy task, but organizing the Crowley and Aziraphale timeline in chronological order can help bring Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's comedic tale of apocalyptic errors into clearer focus. Spanning from the beginning of time to the scheduled end of the world, the Good Omens timeline is as intricate and absurd as the ultimate war between Heaven and Hell. In this story, the friendship between the demon Crowley (played by David Tennant) and the angel Aziraphale (played by Michael Sheen) is truly timeless. Starting from the Garden of Eden in 4004 B.C. and leading up to the Apocalypse, their bond represents one of the most peculiar friendships in the universe.

Despite being on opposite sides, their shared goal has placed them in an unusual position. While it is possible that their initial connection was simply due to proximity, they gradually discovered a deeper and more meaningful connection over the years. Both Crowley and Aziraphale share a common interest: saving the world. However, going against God's "ineffable" plan is not something they undertake lightly. It takes time - or in their case, a few thousand years - for them to gather the courage and willpower to defy their respective sides. As the story of Good Omens unfolds, it jumps through different eras, but ultimately everything falls into place.

Good Omens Timeline In Season 2

The Definitive Guide to Good Omens: Unraveling the Epic Chronological Timeline

In 2500 BC, in the land of Uz, there is a story in the Bible about Job and a wager between God and Satan. They decided to test Job's faith by taking everything away from him. Satan believed that Job would reject God, while God believed that Job would remain faithful. In the Crowley and Aziraphale timeline, they represent God and Satan in this bet.

Moving forward to 1827 in Georgian/Regency Edinburgh, Crowley and Aziraphale find themselves involved in a body-snatching incident. This incident connects to the classical tale of Frankenstein, which was written just nine years prior to this event.

World War II, London - Similar to the first season, where Crowley and Aziraphale were involved with the Nazis in World War II, the second season sees them embroiled in a completely different incident. Mr. Harmony and Mr. Glozier, who appeared in the first season, return as zombies from Hell, aiming to prove that Crowley and Aziraphale are working together.

Present-Day London - The exact timing of the events taking place in present-day London, as depicted in the Good Omens timeline, is not specified, but it is likely to be four years after the previous season. The majority of these events occur in Aziraphale's bookshop, although other local destinations are also featured, such as Maggie's record shop and Nina's coffee shop.

Season 1 of Good Omens jumped between various points in time, from the beginning of creation to the supposed apocalypse. In contrast, season 2 focused on the past in three episodes, while maintaining a linear timeline in the present day. This slower and more deliberate exploration of Crowley and Aziraphale's journey allowed for a deeper exploration of their evolving love. If a season 3 of Good Omens is produced, audiences can anticipate more of these meaningful glimpses into the past, cementing the show's ability to span across all of time.
